Oh yes! I'm VERY pleased with The Beach Boys approach! Has Paul EVER done a meet n greet? Like in any sort of package setting or anything of that sort?
The only real Meet and Greet's Paul has ever done has been signings. Those have been free, but you had to camp out for them. He has never done a Meet and Greet as part of a regular VIP package. He has had meet and greets with the Adopt-a-minefield event, I think the highest paying tables. That was years ago. Podgie (would be cool with a VIP package now) Monkey
That's mostly true, but evidently with some exceptions (but talking years ago, during the 1993 tour)....and it caused some controversy of sorts...if you bought tickets through his Liverpool school foundation (or whatever it was), you had some special privilages related to the shows...and early on, several groups got to actually meet Paul...but this wasn't stated as one of the benefits and when Paul decided not to do this anymore, subsequent fans who bought these expensive tickets were upset by what they thought was a 'promised' benefit
rich, thanks for the background on the meet and greets. I do recall reading some complaints in the forum around the time the VIP packages came into play (was that in the 2000's?). People seemed pretty upset to be so far back from the stage, etc. The reality is that it's a soundcheck, it's to make sure the band's instruments, tuning, mics, etc. sound good for the concert. It's not a private party for fans. I never got why folks are surprised by this. Anyway, it's good to know some of the history of Paul's VIP experiences.
I've always complained about being at least 40 rows back for the soundcheck. That is quite a distance. I know all about him working & such but it doesn't matter...I still think it is far away for the kind of money that he gets. He could at least do a drive by high five or give a stamped (o hand autographed) program for the $2000.00. (your ticket to the show is included) and...I'm sure the instruments have been sound checked before Paul even gets there.

I'm pretty sure that Paul won't be playing Detroit for at least another year or so since he performed last July - to a single show date. Which is ok with me since i'm engaged and just bought a house. But I think it'll be the cheap seats next round. Four times seeing him between the $90-$250 have been a pleasure.

Oh, don't get me wrong--I'd LOVE a personal interaction with Paul or some sort of personalized keepsake for that kind of money. As it's advertised now, though, that's not promised. It's advertised as a soundcheck, and that's literally what it is. I think it's horrible that we're being charged so much for a soundcheck, even thought Shelley Lazar is a goddess and does everything she can to personalize it.

Shelly was not at our soundcheck. and it was hot. That may be another complaint of mine. OMG! We even had to eat OUTSIDE....kinda. Well it was just tented no air no fans nuttin.
I thought we would have been inside at the restaurant but that must have been for bigger fish that probably didn't even pay for a soundcheck. but this is about rumors...so let's just hope he gets to all of our neck of the woods...or necks of the woods.

Good call.
(P.S. Shelley is amazing, so next time, I hope she's there for you and your VIP enjoyment.
) Come on, Eastern US/Canada!

Well, last I checked we had Memphis and San Diego. Have they been shot down yet? And don't forget...Australia, Japan, and of course Mexico. And Macca Report said we'll get "three more european dates for April".

He can do whatever he wants between now and June, but June to late August, he's a US/Canadian tour machine.
I actually do hope he hits up San Diego, as he hasn't done much on the West Coast in terms of proper concerts in a bit. But he'd still better come to the East Coast, too.

He hasn't done anything in Jersey for a while, my other grandparents are Atlantic City junkies, we'd have a free room!
Other than that, I can't really think of any other East Coast cities that he hasn't touched recently, NYC is always a possibility I guess.

It's funny because my daughter wants to do a So Cal vacation this year (vs the usually Naples/Juno Florida trip we make every year)....and a PM concert may just be the tipping point...as it was, she tried to get me to buy tickets for the Jubilee concert in England, simply because she wants to visit England and knew that a PM concert was a good selling point for me...LOL

You've got a smart daughter there, rich.

Again?
RMartinez:
I read on Maccareport McCartney is doing three shows in Europe in March, and that more dates will be announced soon for Europe in April. I could just as easily say, "AGAIN??" He just did 11 or 12 shows there in November and December. All I meant was it's his choice. He can do that.
Not my point. I meant again Mexican or South-American so called 'confirmed' dates, which never emerges in the end. Just saying. But while on this subject...

Except for this benefit thing at RAH...none of this cities were touched in December.
What WixRocks! said. Or in the almost 10 years before that.
You both missed my point, which is McCartney played Europe in late 2011. You said "Again?" when Guadalajara was mentioned. Maybe I missed your point. McCartney has never played Guadalajara. But if you meant the date is just a rumor, I get it now. Time will tell if it is a rumor. BTW, this is a "rumors" thread.

Looks like there's a lot to look out for.

It wasn't a dig at you. Again, just saying the local press in those areas are 'confirming' McCartney concerts almost each month... And of course it was very much on-topic in this rumours thread.

It's cool! I am always interested in hearing about where McCartney is going next no matter where, as are you. And I concede, until McCartney announces it, it is suspect.
-
Rumors going around for more European tour dates in April, Barcelona being one of them.
-
From FB - Our latest scan reads as follows: Guadalajara, Mexico; San José, Costa Rica; Bogota, Colombia. Specs: Uruguay, Paraguay and Recife, Brasil. BUT: until Paul announces it ... Put your reservations (and your life) on hold.
-
Where on FB? Not that I would be attending any of those.
