How close do you think you need to be to the stage for Paul to consider calling you on stage? I'm on row 13 on a stadium show, and I don't want to go through all the stress (and illusion) of making a sign if there's zero chance of Paul calling me on stage. Have any of you been called on stage in the past? What row were you in? Thanks!

      Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles 03/30/2010
      Estadio Monumental, Lima 05/09/2011
      Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville 10/25/2014

It really depends. I've mostly seen people in the first 10 or so rows. But in Vancouver earlier this year the family was way on the other side of the arena. And he read a sign from someone about 12-16 rows back. I'd say make the sign since you never know what could happen- just don't get your hopes up. Also, there's a specific part of the show where he reads them so it's really only that one time when you'll show it, though some people try a couple times in between songs when he's switching instruments.... ultimately your choice, it's about luck too 😉

Sounds like Sir Paul has superb eye sight! I hope people don't hold up their signs throughout the entire show though I won't be surprised if some do.

He can read signs as far back as the sound board which is beyond row 25! He read our signs in Memphis at SC and made a few comments. Didn't bring anybody on stage though.

I was thinking he could see signs from that far back, but wasn't sure. I'm glad since I'll be in row 14 in October! 😉

it also depends on the sign. The less words and the larger and darker the letters, the better. Smaller letters with too many words are hard for him to read, especially if you are farther away.

I wish I could do something like that, but one would have to think of something VERY clever to get Paul to notice your sign and call you up. Omg if that happened to me if Paul ever called me up on stage, I'd be crying tears of happiness! It's so nice that Paul is so kind to his fans.

he called me up on stage in Munich last month but I was on row 2 end seats. However he also called up a lovely Russian couple and they were MUCH further back then me. I'm talking like row 20. Just depends on what his plans are for the show I guess!

Yes they definitely scout people w signs at the soundchecks and also at the pre-show. At soundcheck they were actually videoing the signs/people, and I saw the guy, forget his name!! at the front of stage scoping out signs during the dj pre-show and taking written notes. It seems to me the choice is made before the concert starts -- not when Paul is actually onstage in the middle of the show.

No, he is writing down the seat locations so that when Paul tells him to go find the person with a certain sign, he knows where they are sitting. Pretty sure Paul still does the choosing.

Are people holding up their signs during the dj and pre-show film? How annoying for the people behind them! Not to mention how expensive floor seats are!

Sign etiquette is you hold your signs up AFTER a song is finished and then down again until the next break. He does start talking about the signs at one point in the concert-that's fair game time!! Once he reads or acknowledges your sign, put it down and hope for the best...DONT hold it up the whole concert-you might get hurt...ð???ð???. There is ONE exception during "Fans On The Run" (oops, I meant Bandð???) ð???

but holding them up after EVERY song and until the next song starts is VERY annoying to the people behind you; then they do not get to see Paul speaking in between songs.
