Anyone Want to Split the Cost of a Charity Bid to Meet Paul?
-
Charitybuzz.com is having a bidding war for 2 people to meet Paul in the city of their choice. I'm going to the Grand Rapids show August 15 and am looking for someone who wants to bid with me on this. I know it's last minute- bidding ends tomorrow. Check it out at and PM me if interested: https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/meet-sir-paul-mccartney-during-his-one-on-one-tour-with-1070501?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=CB%20Blast%205-5-2016&utm_term=Master%20Blast%20NEW

I wonder how many of those bidders are from this board?
-
No idea but still hoping someone wants to split the cost with me so they can meet Paul in Grand Rapids. Any takers?

If I was going to Grand Rapids I would split it with you-anyone for other stops?
-
Can't afford it, but would if I could!
-
What other city would you be willing to go to?

just went up to $21,500-I'm going to pass now-10k would of been my limit

Yea, it's getting painful now, but I'm still open. For a while, anyway. Let me know if you change your mind. The scary thing is if I bid with someone, how will I know they'll pay me back??

up to 25 now.

I'm still willing to go 1/2 if someone else wants to share 1/2 of the bid/cost.

Though there may be less opportunities to meet in the future; I think this auction diminishes the actual value as it through a group setting and nothing will be signed. Personally I would of brought my copy of NEW lp. I think he would get to sign that. Even for charity just to chat for a minute and get a pic I would pass at that rate. I applaud the cause.

Bringing in an actual LP past security would be really hard ever since people were throwing them on stage like Frisbee's, very dangerous for him. I also applaud the cause, IMO it works because it is for charity.

the auction was nearly over; the earlier bidding war had ended, but a new last-minute bidder showed up. Auction time got extended for a few minutes. Clock got down to less than 2 minutes and another person just swooped in with a new bid! So now there are 7 minutes back on the clock. it's rather exciting. And up to $38K now!
-
That's the most I've ever seen any of these go. Do you know what the final bid was?

It was $38,000. I assume that the final person who swooped in at the last minute with that bid was the winner. When the clock counted down, the page refreshed and it said "Lot closed" but that was the last bid that I saw. and that's very well done for Why Hunger, which is a deserving charity!

Posted my question while you were answering. Great for the charity! I try and watch the end of his auctions and they are usually around $25,000.00, the biggest one I saw was for the Apollo a few years back.

I remember that auction, but not the prices. It was interesting to watch the end of this one!
