Is there somewhere we can go to see the attendance figures and box office income for each concert? Just curious. Thanks.

Billboard runs a regular "boxscore" of this information, I think it's weekly or bi-weekly, but I don't know how to find earlier data. http://www.billboard.com/biz/current-boxscore

I don't think they are releasing info because none of the shows have been listed.

Wikipedia has attendance and box scores for most concert tours. Here's the Out There Tour stats: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_There_%28tour%29 The One On One tour is not updated yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_on_One_%28tour%29 This is the link for all his tours with attendance and dollar amounts for most shows since Driving World in 2002. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_McCartney#Tours It certainly shows for a fact why he keeps going on the road. He's made hundreds of millions touring since 2002. Totals for the Out There Tour alone are $275 million!

Always check the sources though, a while ago the Ziggo Dome concerts last year showed up as completely sold out both nights with full gross revenue, while everyone who was there knew they couldn't fill complete sections and had to give tickets away to not close off the upper balcony on night 2.

This is because resellers (scalpers) buy many of the tickets, and they are not able to resell them all before the concert. They are still figured as part of the revenue. It's also part of the risk of being a ticket scalper. Most venues have empty seats for sold-out events. It also means if you wait until the day before or day of the concert you can find some great deals on unsold tickets. And yes, it's true...not even McCartney will sell out every seat for every show.

Yeah, but not in this case, that second night sold so bad the official ticket agency did a "2 tickets for 1"-deal weeks in advance, there was no scalper who burned his hands on that gig.

Doesn't Dusseldorf have nearly 51.000 capacity? It was empty in half?

Half the bowl would be 25,000 and another 15,000 can fit on a field that big.

I read it actually sits 54,000. Three fourths of that would be about 40,000. Add another 15,000 on the field and that is a possible 55,000 capacity. So 28,000 is not nearly a sell out. Sometimes, when a show does not sell well, they move the stage forward to decrease the capacity and make it look like a sell out. Maybe the did that for this show.

Doesn't Dusseldorf have nearly 51.000 capacity? It was empty in half?

Wouldn't one-fourth of the venue be unusable due to the stage set/unavailable seating?

I read it actually sits 54,000. Three fourths of that would be about 40,000. Add another 15,000 on the field and that is a possible 55,000 capacity. So 28,000 is not nearly a sell out. Sometimes, when a show does not sell well, they move the stage forward to decrease the capacity and make it look like a sell out. Maybe the did that for this show.

First thing I noticed from the pictures, I noted that somewhere in the thread. A very wide and not so long field, since they cut the "venue" in half.

In D?sseldorf and Munich the stage is placed in the middle of the long side, hence the venue is much smaller than it's usually capacity. This set up was announced even before ticket sales began. Nevertheless, both shows sold rather poorly, but his standards. They cold have sold more.

Good point. Still, by any stretch, 27,000 is poor attendance for a stadium of that size, even with that seating configuration.

The Esprit Arena in D?sseldorf has a seating capacity of 54.600 With the stage on the long side, they only put less than half the seats in the round on sale. There were a few thousands seats in the infield. So in the end it would have been sold out with less than 30.000 tickets. So 27.359 was an almost sold out show. There were some free seats in the upper corners of the stadium. But that's it. So they never calculated with more than 30.000 people. Same with Vienna in 2013. Same setup, same admission figures.

And even the disastrously bad selling Amsterdam shows last year ended up in the top 100 of box office figures over the whole year worldwide in the end, so what do we know, haha...
