If paul did start to include Silly Love Songs in his setlist, wouldn't he need a female backup singer?

I doubt that. she's not a limelight sort of gal, turning down major magazines for interveiws and what not. She'd never stand onstage during a show and sing backup with Paul. At least, not at this point in her life anyway. Wonder if one of the guys could do a convincing backup for this song and if it'd sound all right. (I'm so used to Linda's lovely voice crooning)

Nah, the band could handle it

I think Abe would do a great job!

i dont think his voice could handle 90% of the songs we would like to see him sing again live.. its a bit of a dead duck this debate these days.......infact during the wings period he really really perfected the vocals on many of his great songs...they where pitch perfect and mostly pretty high. i would now say that unless it just happened to still work like say 'mrs vanderbilt' it would be a bad idea to drag up many of his wings classics like 'silly love songs' simply because his voice could not handle it. 'juniors farm' sounded dire vocally,as did 'venus and mars rock show'..nd 'maybe im amazed ' has always been painful since 1989 as have 'jet' and 'band on the run' when you actually sit down and listen'. 'letting go' sounded brilliant for some reason whilst his brief reprise of 'bluebird' was another vocal disaster. 'live and let die' is such a show show stopper he will no doubt continue with it despite his obvious difficulties singing it,whilst 'let me roll it' despite decent delivery is not half the song he thinks it is. 'my love' is another painfull listen although '1985' sounded better than i though it would without being anything close to the brilliant original vocal.

I've said for a while he should get a few female backing singers on the tour, no harm to the guys but they don't do the songs justice, i thought the same thing when Hamish was doing the backing, I'm in agreement with you m8, i think its time he sat down and went through the songs he can nail. as much as i didn't want him to do this gig for Liz, i hope it all goes well for him because the eyes of the world will be watching.

the funny thing is that on songs like 'my love' and 'here today' many actually believe/delude themselves that his voice is struggling due to the subject matter of the songs[linda/john].........err i think not....hes struggling because he cant sing them good anymore most of the time

The one I've really noticed lately is the 2nd half of Maybe I'm Amazed.

But saying that wen yo're there ou don't notice at all. At the Liverpool show in december I thought he was vocally spot on from start to finish, didn't notice one mistake, but I listened back to the bootleg and quite a few songs had some slightly bum notes. BUT saying that I'd rather he was singing live and there being a few bum notes than him lip syncing or whatever

Brian Ray:
Hello London, have you been good while I was away?
So Brian Ray just tweeted that he is currently in London (presumably for rehearsals) so lets all get him tweeted and facebooked and lets really push for Silly Love Songs to be at least rehearsed and considered!

Sorry, I'm feeling negative today. I told myself all winter that Ferrari would be competitive and their car is a total piece of sh!t! I can't be disappointed twice in two weeks!!!!! I still sent the tweet though, doing my best! Remember to use #SillyLoveSongsRocks folks!
-
You're really having a shocker! lol Wonder if they'll throw in any new songs? I'm fully expecting My Valentine, but I wonder if Paul has any actual surprises lined up! He did good pulling Come and Get It and The Word out of the bag for the previous leg of the tour!
