Covid-19 Coronavirus

Right now everyone is waiting for the vaccines! And it has nothing to do with politics...it's the weathetr & the mail. Some of our Walgreens have just started to make appointments for this weekend so they must have gotten their shipment in! Yay for whomever needs it!
-
Georgia is adding teachers and others under 65 who have underlying health issues on March 8th.
They usually open up new appointments on Wednesdays, so Mar. 10th I'm going to try to get an appointment for my first shot (and not wait the full 90 days) You can select the days you're available, but will only put Fri. and Sat. so I have time to recover before I have to take care of my granddaughter on Tues. in case I have side effects.

My dad was finally contacted by the county he lives in to make an appointment for his first shot! Took almost 2 months for them to get to him, but now he can finally get the process started.

It is strange how different the states are doing this! Nobody calls us in GA - we have to make an appointment online! Like Trevor Noah joked on The Daily Show the other night, it's like trying to get tickets to Coachella!

They do it both ways here. I'm on multiple lists waiting for a call. But I found out they were giving the shots through Jewel/Osco & the village so I called & was able to get in there. The only side effect that I had was chills & a sore arm for a day. I get my 2nd one in a couple of weeks.

It is strange, because my dad had to sign up online, so I figured they would have emailed him or texted, but they ended up calling him! Out my way they are doing online sign ups and I think the making of appointments is done online as well, except for the second vaccine. My dr was telling me she thinks I'll be able to get mine in mid March, but I will have to get mine through the insurance I have not at one of the mass vaccation sites they have out here.

The mass vaccination sites still take your insurance info and bill them, but there is never a cost to you.

Unfortunately not with the insurance I have here in CA.

Really? That sucks! Here in GA you can go anywhere you want. They ask if you have insurance, but if you don't, either way you don't pay anything.

Wow. First I ever heard of you having to pay anything. Maybe they will re-imburse you?

Oh I won't have to pay for it, I will just have to get it at the facility my insurance is through, so I won't be able to get it at a CVS or mass vaccination site.

Sorry, I must have taken your answer the wrong way.

Got my second vaccine shot last week (Pfizer) and the only side effect was slightly sore arm, my wife had the same type of reaction to both of her shots. She got both several weeks ago since she is clinical nurse supervisor and got it at hospital she works at.

That's great! My mom gets her 2nd tomorrow, then I will schedule my 1st when new appointments come up.

I went to the office today for the first time in a year! I will be going once a week now, will move it to two times a week once I get my vaccines. I was most concerned about traveling in and out of the city on public transit, but thankfully people were able to keep their distance from one another.

My 90 year old mom got her 2nd shot on the 3rd and had no side effects (Pfizer) I get my 1st shot on Fri. the 12th.

I bet you're already doing it but make sure to travel with your hand sanitizer on public transit.

Oh yes, wearing two masks and always have plenty of hand sanitizer on me. Thankfully the stations all have hand santizier stands at each stop as well.

Got my first shot today (Pfizer) and so far only a sore arm. I read that some countries like France are only giving people who have had Covid one injection. The U.S. is saying there's not enough data to say that's totally effective and will still give both shots. Since I had Covid in December, this was of interest to me.
