Just thought it would be fun to check the Beatles Bible chronology and find out where The Beatles were on the day you were born... https://www.beatlesbible.com/history/

If your birthdate was before the Quarrymen were formed, and no information is listed, you can be a Silver Beatle.

If you were born after 1957, and no info is given for your birthdate, we can assume they (together or solo) were "At home or in the studio recording"

Checked my birthdate and on that date The Beatles were playing at the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg. heart

The day I was born, Paul was still 12, but would turn 13 in a month or so. John was 14, George was 12, and Ringo was 14, but would turn 15 in 2 months.

P.S. This does not jive with what you said in the Beatles Picture Thread about being 1 year old in Jan. 1960. 🧐

January 1959...they were still performing as the Japage 3. One known date was 8th May 1959 at the La Scala Ballroom, Runcorn (according to Mark Lewisohn's book Tune-In).

Nancy will have to try harder than that to catch me out !!   Although quite expensive, I would definitely opt for the extended edition of 'Tune-In' although the standard version is absolutely fine too. No Paul fan should be without this book.

I'll put that on my wish list for Christmas! It would be a good book to be reading now actually. All this indoor time we all have!

😂 Didn't realize the were Japage 3 in early 1959. I have both the standard and extended versions of Tune In - love it! Best, most accurate and error-free bio of the Beatles!

One interesting aspect of the standard version  is that despite losing half the text of the extended version, its not instantly obvious what's been left out. Well, not to me anyway.

I read the shorter version first, then the extended version. There was a lot more about their ancestors. Still was so interesting!

So the question to you all is... Should I get the extended version or the standard? Saw that there is a boxed set for about 161.00$  I think that is hardbound. Is there a new book coming out soon, and I should just wait for that?

Thanks for any feedback! I'm not good on remembering dates of famous events, so this will be good for my slightly dyslexic memory when it comes to dates.

The standard edition and the extended edition only came out in hardback. If you have the $ to spend, get the (Part 1) extended version (which consists of 2 hardbacks) Part 2 of the series is not due out until perhaps 2023 or later. It will cover Jan. 1, 1963 until maybe Dec. 31, 1966 (not sure) Part 1 is everything up until Dec. 31, 1962.

I went the opposite route which must seem a bit silly but I did pick up the standard edition very cheaply (for £1) in a charity shop.

If you can realistically afford it,and are genuinely interested in their very early pre-fame years, then definately the extended edition.

If you can realistically afford it,and are genuinely interested in their very early pre-fame years, then definately the extended edition.

Why not try it in e book?

edit to add that I just looked at my digital books & I also have the Tune In Audio!

I wonder how long it would take to listen to the extended version in audio?!

I love a real book as well. Have to buy another bookcase. Only read my Kindle if I'm waiting somewhere. I've decided to buy it in the future, after the elections.

I would have been interested in the audio version had Mark Lewisohn himself been narrating his book. But he didn't so I wasn't.

I'd get an audiobook of the Lewisohn book if Patrick Stewart was narrating: "During the Let it Be sessions, Yoko's presence encited mixed reactions, and even resentment, but curiously she continued to eat George's biscuits..."
