Gianna, can you give us an update based on your opinion? Although a voucher will probably be useless to me, the deadline to request them is the 17th, which would be the 16th here in the US (Tuesday). Do you feel that the statement by Paul's team could influence a change to the voucher only refund?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide. I'm so far away that I feel helpless to make a change.
I would wait until the 16th, but, if you have doubts, ask for it. In my opinion, despite the deadline of 17, they will accept applications even later. But, if things go as we hope and repeal or amend the Decree, both vouchers and tickets will be refunded.
However, I will not ask for the voucher at all.
The only reson I might ask for the voucher is that I am afraid of getting nothing... but if refunds are then given and I only have vouchers it would be horrible
If it does happen.. when do you think the Decree will be repealed\amended?

As I said, in my opinion, they will accept the request for the voucher even after the 17th and in any case the law does not say that the request must be made in the manner established by Ticketone but it leaves us the choice.
The article 88 of “ Cura Italia,” as modified by the “Decreto Rilancio”, has not yet been converted and therefore still has a temporary character and we cannot yet know what will happen, because we don't know how the decree will be modified during the conversion, but we have good reason to trust that there will be a refund of both tickets and vouchers

I wrote a certified e-mail to say that I do not accept the voucher and to request a monetary refund, and like me many people have done. In these days many newspapers and many italian media networks talk about it and support our cause. In addition, Italian buyers continue to write to members of parliament to support us. In this way, they will have to decide in our favor and we are confident

I think I will just wait for a cash refund or nothing... the vouchers I will prob never use and they will no doubt make it difficult to get, and even if I could use them Im not sure i will...i dont want to give this promotoer any more money which I would be doing by atteneding a concert,.If i do happen to be in Italy and want to go to a concert I will make sure it doesnt have anything to do with this promoter anyway.. My tickets cost about €150 but ended up being arounf €190 after post etc which is a joke in itself but yeah I think its cash or nothing for me

The sad thing is, if you get a voucher or you don't, the promoter still has your money! Only a refund is fair!

Below the letter sent to the Minister Franceschini by Maverick Management, an important American music management group .
( Translated by Google)
Dear Min. Franceschini,
This beginning of the year has had a huge impact on the entire music industry, in particular that of live music, which has suffered all over the world, including Italy, a country loved by every international artist for his loyal and passionate fans.
Most of the countries in the world have offered fans the offer to have a coupon or a full and immediate refund for events canceled and / or postponed due to Covid-19. In some countries, such as the United States, fans have been offered coupons that were worth up to 150% of the original face value of the tickets, giving fans additional credit for future events and incentivizing them not to ask for a refund. Also in the United States about 20% of fans asked for a refund because they needed it, and they got it. In Europe this number is only 5%, because the possibility of obtaining a full refund is not always contemplated.
The principle is simple: without our audience there would be no artists, records, streams, promoters, management, record companies, live shows, we would not be there. Fans must always have freedom of choice. For each canceled concert, it must be possible to obtain a full refund or a voucher of the same value, if not even higher, but they must always be free to choose.
For each artist we represent, we always support and respect his audience first.
For all the shows in Italy, the Italian promoters announced that they would issue vouchers of the same amount instead of refunding the tickets for the canceled shows. In Italy, unfortunately, fans have not had the option of simply getting back the money from a ticket they had bought, and this is a deeply unfair and incorrect thing. We, as a management company, have never had a say or control over this decision which was communicated to us and confirmed by the partners. We brought the requests of the artists we represent, we said that it would not have been fair to those who struggled to buy a ticket, but this is the situation we have found.
Personally, we don't agree with this lack of choice.
We have long-standing relationships with many of the great Italian promoters and the management teams that organize live music events in Italy, there is respect, respect and friendship. The entertainment sector in Italy employs over 400,000 people, who have been among the hardest hit by this crisis, seeing that they erase months of present and future work in a total way. But it is not by putting the burden on fans that the situation can be managed. There is an urgent need for assistance from the Italian Government to help support the music industry as in all other European countries as it is happening, not leaving all the weight in the hands of the fans, who are instead the lifeblood of our world. .
Furthermore, from what we were told, all promoters had to pay their share of taxes on ticketing revenue received this year for canceled or postponed shows. This in turn created a huge impact on their ability to reimburse tickets, forcing them to accept the voucher system as their only chance of survival, and thus causing everything to fall on fans who should not further pay for this global crisis.
As Minister of Culture, you immediately said that you are sensitive to the subject and for this reason, given that the theme continues to be for us and for the top-level public, we ask you to take control of the situation and protect the world of entertainment that he has been called upon in recent months to help alleviate the difficult time, but then left alone in his time of need.
Given the recent appeals and collective movements in Italy, we are at your disposal to urgently open a government-level debate to support the Italian live music industry - vital for the culture of the country - and to protect consumers.
Canceled shows must be refunded to fans, reprogrammed shows must be refunded or, if the fan wants, turned into tickets for the next show by the same artist.
The Italian government must be able to help the entertainment sector in a fair and timely manner, as many other governments in Europe and in the world have already done and are doing.
Scott Rodger and Francesco Pasquero

I agree with you.
I hope the state does a financial investigation to find out where the takings of pre-sale tickets are, which are high and I don't think they can disappear

I love Italy and cant wait to go back but I wont be spending this much money on a concert there again thats for sure ha

Thanks, gianna, I will follow you on this one and not bother to request a voucher now. At best, I could only try to sell it at a loss, and this would be difficult to do from the US anyway. Hopefully the Italian government will step in and correct this situation. It sounds like the fans in Italy are rallying for this and hopefully we will all benefit from your efforts. If there are any other petitions or emails I could sign or send, please post details and I'll be happy to participate.
I will send one more message to ticketone emphasizing I'm not applying for a voucher by the 17th since I can't use it anyway and still requesting a full refund to my credit card, etc. etc. etc.
Honestly, if Paul's concerts had been rescheduled to similar dates in 2021, I would be more accepting of a voucher. Even though I don't want to support a dishonest seller & promoter like these, I probably would in order to see Paul Next time for Italy, if there is one, I will buy VIP so I'm assured a full refund in case of cancellation.

I have not requested vouchers, as I want my money back. A real credit card refund.

Nearly one month ago I sent a message to TicketOne asking for a refund via credit card, not voucher. They finally replied today and this is their message:

I got that same reply today to the email I wrote last night. It's much different than the ones I received before, so feel this may be encouraging.

Although I am optimistic of a positive outcome I am not waiting any longer for some corrupt politicians and businessmen to do the right thing. I've started a fraud investigation with my credit card company and PayPal as well as initiating a claim through my travel insurance policy. I am determined to get back my 900 Euros back one way or another. Hopefully the end result is these shysters are out of business.

I also submitted a claim with my credit card bank, Paypal rejected my inquiry because I submitted it 1 day past the time deadline.

I just created a facebook group to talk about the voucher issue. You are invited to register in order to show that there are many foreigners who feel cheated by this system. Thank you!
