Paul McCartney sign question
-
I've got a question, I'm in row 17 for the Greensboro concert and I'm making a sign. I'm going for my birthday. How far back does Paul usually call people up on stage? I heard until row 20 or 25. Is this true?
-
I sure hope the sign won't make any reference to your bizarre butt line there.
-
bizarre butt line... and he doesn't always "call people up".

I kind of find it funny that people are obsessed with his butt. Haha I never honestly expected it. Haha People love the old mans backside I guess haha. Plus with the calling up it pretty rare I believe. Trying to think back at all the reports I've heard and it doesn't occur too often, but it has been prevalent in during this tour it seems.
-
I don't recall him ever doing it in 1976, 1989-90, 1993. Maybe in 2002? I don't know. By 2005 he started to do it. Again, not my favorite thing, but as was pointed out to me, it's his stage, he can do what he wants there!
-
Not my favorite thing either. Might change my mind if it was me. The few times I've been present when it happened, I haven't figured out why that person got called up over the other people. In Nashville, a father and son were called up. Think dad gave kid a sign about how he wanted to sing with Paul. Son didn't even know the words to the song. Waste of time. Paul laughed and they got sent off the stage.
-
Too bad that time was wasted - the son probably won't treasure that magical time.
-
I'd just like to say I am spending a wad to stay in front of the signs. I hate them & so I buy the best seat I can so I don't cause a scene arguing with someone. Those signs are costing me plenty. ops:

You should check out the pic thread... there are a lot of McBuns fans on the forum.
-
ahhh McBuns...He loves to do his little wiggle to the audience, during the guitar solo in And I Love Her....He knows what he's doing !! LOL As far as signs,at one point of show he looks at the signs, everyone holds up their signs & he reads some of them.
-
Be sure not to hold your sign up constantly during a song! I made this rookie mistake my first ever concert because I made it especially for this song. I quickly realized how rude I was blocking the view of people behind me.
-
I was in row 7 (aisle seat) when he called me up on stage in 2011.
-
it's very rare that he calls people up at all...He sees probably 5-10 signs a show about it's my birthday, sign my this or that or I want to dance on stage....all pretty much played out but once a blue moon he feels the urge to pull someone up. However, it's usually someone young and attractive 90% of the time

At least 90% of the time !I was at one show with a soundcheck call up. I had a "Group Hug" sign...& they picked the girls out....poodforpaul was 1 of them ! Paul says "Time for the Group Hug !, I had the sign, but no Group Hug for me....guess I didn't fit the percentage ! Oh well,

Wow, you created the sign but didn't get a hug? SO unfair!

Yea, Brian Riddle came over & told us Paul likes your signs -we had 2 group hug signs -,but when they came & pointed out who was to go on stage( 4 or 5 ) ..I wasn't one of them We had so many people come up to us after & say how unfair it was. I thought I was finally going to get close up to him..but no, guess it wasn't meant to be

I'm really sorry to hear that I sincerely hope you get to meet Paul one day, I have my fingers crossed for you

In 2010 my sign had nothing to do with being brought up on stage but was captured on the Jumbotron @ AT&T park in SF. Once that happened, I put it away as to not annoy the people behind me. I'd be SO afraid if I was to be called up on stage for fear of PIMP or fainting. And I agree with the poster about 90% of the time it is a young attractive female brought up. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Paul's human after all. In 2005 I brought a sign, held it up discreetly and only in between songs, and the person behind me was such a jack@$$, he yelled at me each time, it made me cry.

Me too! I'd probably trip going up to the stage & knock Paul over or something else embarrassing! Lol
