Don't know why link disappeared! This site is so effed up!
Thanks for reposting. Yeah, considering Paul is such a major artist, his website doesn't exactly reflect that stature.
The registration of the domain name does give a lot of weight to the rumour.

some of the
fans at "Take It Away" website said they want an experimental, way out there album, the more far out the better

I don't know but I suspect they are going to be in for a disappointment. I'm fully expecting (and hoping) for a very basic itimate sounding album, recorded at home and consisting of vocal, piano, guitar, bass and drums......and that's it. As with 'Scared' (my favourite Paul song in the last 20 years), you don't need production gimmicks and loads of instruments to make a track successful. So long as the performance is sincere, the melody memorable and the lyric focused and honest then that's all thats needed.

I'd like that too, Kestrel, a "McCartney" type album (like his first album) sort of. Shows off his ability to play all the instruments and accomplish everything with a warm, intimate feeling. Cozy. However he wants it though, it's his baby. I also really appreciate his song "Scared." Just a piano, him, striking lyrics and a lot of emotion.

We could turn this into a Trivial Pursuit type question! Name two songs that Paul McCartney has written which share the same title as two songs John Lennon has written? Well, we know one of them already of course.

What happened to that cool album cover? It reminded me of Springsteen with the denim jacket and had a feel of "just McCartney". It's him playing all the music, right? I pictured him isolating and hanging out at his studio.

I hope so. In 'lockdown' there would have been no other musicians or engineers with him, although as Mary and her family were living with him, maybe his grandsons played on the album? Or helped to engineer it?

Woman. Hold Me Tight? But Paul co-wrote the Beatles one. Oh, duh, Scared is the other one!

What about James?

Does James normally live with his father? At 42 I would have thought he was living his own life elsewhere. The only reason why Mary was there was because Nancy was in the US.

Well, you got Woman quickly so well done. Paul wrote that one and gave it to Peter & Gordon as you obviously know. I can't think of any others other than Woman and Scared.

I'd love that, if James appeared on the new album ! I love James' singing voice, and his songs ! His guitar playing ain't too shabby either. I've read that Stella can really sing, too.
Maybe Mary can sing well too. Heather. I've long wondered if any of Paul's grandkids are musical. Seems like out of all that crowd, his nieces and nephews too, a few at least would be very musical. Macca got some of his from his Dad. His brother is musical. That sort of ability, of course, can be inherited.

I hope it's just Paul.

No he doesn't live with him! Doesn't mean he couldn't pop over to the Sussex studio. We still don't know if Paul and Nancy are still in NYC or if they went back to the U.K. at the end of August. He could have recorded some stuff April - June, then resumed if he is back now.

There was no popping over anywhere during lock down in the UK , especially for non-essential work like playing a guitar. It was essential journeys only. Roads were deserted. But its true that James may have had the opportunity to contribute after lockdown restrictions were relaxed but would it be then be a genuine solo McCartney effort? McCartney and McCartney ll only featured Paul, with a bit of vocal work from Linda of course.

I didn't mean during lockdown. This is all just crazy speculation. It will probably just be a totally solo Paul album.

But when he couldn't go anywhere during lockdown other than to stay at home, that's the most likely time he recorded the album. It might be another situation like McCartney ll where the sessions were never intended for an album, until somebody commented that they should be.

I was told it's all solo Paul, written performed and produced, for what it's worth.

You misunderstood. I meant that JAMES did not go to East Sussex during lockdown. That was the "crazy speculation" part where people were wondering if his kids and/or grandkids were involved! Yes, Paul probably recorded April to June while there, and depending on where he is now, might still be recording.

Ah, ok, I see what you meant know.
