A memory I have from last years 'Hornby Road' lecture tour by Mark Lewisohn was the revelation that the famous 'zebra crossing' photo for the Abbey Road album was never meant to be the cover. Still struggling to come up with a name of their latest album, Paul had the idea of going out on the crossing for a publicity photo for the forthcoming release. Its implied (if not actually stated as fact) that having seen the chosen photo, the Beatles decided to use it for the cover of the album and to simply call it Abbey Road.  Having now used their publicity photo for a different purpose, they had to arrange another session at John's home a couple of weeks later.

Same day, Paul having changed his jacket and shirt?   What are all those statues by the front door? Were they of known famous people?

Yes, same day. Paul changed. One of those busts was used on the cover of Sgt. Pepper - recognize it? Don't know if they're real people or who they are. John probably didn't know! 😂
