This girl Cathy Carter on FB (she plays in the all-girl band The Beatelles) started a crowdfunder fundraiser for the Cavern, then soon after wrote this:

📣I have spoken to representatives at Cavern City Tours and I’ll be taking down the Crowdfunder until and if things continue to go on as they are.  As per Cavern statement closure is not imminent so I won’t be panicking yet. Although I did see my life flash before my eyes when I saw the original article  😮
There’s hope left yet and everyone in the team is looking forward to virtual Beatle Week. Here’s hoping an upward curve of positivity in every area starts from the bank holiday weekend.
Any monies raised so far will be refunded.
A huge thankyou for the response and also how grateful all at CCT are for our support. Let’s continue to support live music venues and artists  in which ever way we can.
Visit the websites and pages, buy the merchandise or simply tip when they’re live. Share posts and tag your friends

This is the day the music didn’t die 🎵 🙏💚

I've always thought it's an ugly bar, looks a miserable place to play ...gives me claustrophobia just seeing it...it has great sentimental value though.

Have you actually ever been there? It is cool as hell!! There are 2 stages - the small one and in the back the larger one where Paul played in 1999 and 2018.

I agree. The Cavern was such a highlight when I went there. I was smiling, jumping up and down, feeling good and shouting yeah!! * inside me and probably grinning or smiling big outside too. It looked so familiar from all the years of Beatle footage and Paul returning there to perform. Way cool.

I never saw pix of its good parts, apparently. just pix that made it look claustrophobic and tiny.

The front part is small - when I first went down there in 2011 there were so many people and it was so hot I couldn't stand it for more than 5 minutes (it was literally about 110 degrees or more in there!) I didn't even know there was a larger back area!

Then in 2016 got there early and it was not crowded at first. Went in the back and went up to where the "V.I.P.s" hang (not near the stage) and talked with Julia Baird, Mark Hudson and Shannon MacDonald (all of whom I had met before) It was a blast!

I didn't on my first visit either, despite knowing that Paul had played on a larger stage than the 'Cavern recreation stage' at the front.

I really liked The Cavern because of the history and was so glad to be there. I wanted to give this additional reply more of a balance. When you first go in there, there are a lot of "obstructed views" that gives it a claustrophobia look. I took many photos and viewpoints that created my version of the Cavern. If you were standing in many areas, you would not see a full clear view of the stage. If I saw someone like Paul in this area and was standing off to one of the sides, I might be frustrated that I couldn't see him all of the time or would not be able to see 100% of him if he went to the piano or moved around. (Although the stage would be pretty compact for his shows of today).  I am so glad that I did see both stages and not read here that there was another one and I missed it.  My time in Liverpool was very limited and really a side trip before going on a tour package of Europe. I never thought I would be able to go there (realistically the cost and distance and getting time off to do so) and then there I was. I would not want to see it close for all fans that want to make the trip there. Seeing Paul on the larger stage would be the way to see him and the whole thing without all the obstructions. That being said, I do not have to run the place and take the financial hit because it takes money to keep it in place.  I would also see the place differently if it didn't have a Beatle and Paul connection and other groups played there - the rose colored glasses may have come off and I might think that is was small and cluttery. I didn't see it that way obviously.

                                  Here There and Everywhere
