I really feel sorry for you too. After all, I only lost the money for the train (appr 50 ?). Can't imagine having bus tickets for a small polish town, and then the gig i cancelled... I'm curious; all of you coming from other countries, are you still going to Horsens for a holliday!?

Despite postponments, McCartney fans still got their fix: "Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney caused some major disappointment earlier this month with the postponement of two highly anticipated concerts in Horsens, previously scheduled for the end of June. This minor hiccup did not stop McCartney?s fan base in Copenhagen from celebrating his 70th birthday on Monday night with a close-to-packed McCartney tribute concert at Store Vega. Ex Dizzy Mizzy Lizzy co-founder Tim Christensen and his backing band The Damn Crystals were on hand to provide the evening's entertainment, playing songs predominantly off McCartney's first album Ram, alongside many of Christensen?s own numbers. The evening turned out to be a jovial fest that attracted the young and the old alike: from grey-haired grannies that were taken back to pleasant memories of the peak of their youth to curious teenagers who flocked to the front of the concert to get as close to the stage as they possibly could." http://cphpost.dk/inout/concerts/despite-postponments-mccartney-fans-still-got-their-fix Moderator Edit Post Edited to Conform with Copyright Forum Guidelines

I was there and it was incredibly good!!! I really did "get my fix", but at the same time felt a bit sad that I could have had the real thing just two weeks from now... Anywho, they played all of Ram chronologically, and then the 2nd set was a "best of". Tim Christensen is well known in DK, not only as a brilliant musician and songwriter, but also for being a HUGE beatles nerd, and the concert really reflected that. Those interested can watch a potpourri from the concert here:
I'm really glad I went. Mike Viola and Tracy Bonham were also a big part of the show as special guests, and they did a great job! -
I'm glad you got this. It would have been nice if Paul had sent a video or even posted one for the Danish fans. However, it still isn't Paul.

Thanks! Not YET! Ha! But that could happen in the future. I would love to do BAND ON THE RUN, and JET. We are pretty heavily McCartney in our song list. His songs seem to be a bit easier to transfer to mariachi than others. We are still wrestling with I AM THE WALRUS!

We will never know the real reason I just hope it's not his health
-
I doubt it is his health. If it was, THAT would be the most UNDERSTANDABLE reason to cancel, and I believe fans would have been told that. Also, why cancel two weeks out for health reasons? That is a good amount of time to recuperate and do the gig. Usually performers who cancel for health reasons do it the day of the gig or the day before, as they see if they are getting better. Or not. If his vocal chords are strained, THAT is a good excuse and would have been used. I suspect it is what we were told. Management decided it is better for Paul to play Denmark when he does a string of European dates, rather than fly the band and crew and stage in for a one of show or two. And yes, this could have been planned better. It should help to remember that this is a high production staging McCartney puts on, and costs to travel. If he does, say, eight shows in Latin America, Europe, or the USA, the "mini tour" probably doesn't even see a profit until after the second or third show. The crew of over two hundred and all local workers are guaranteed pay, not matter what happens. I am just speculating, maybe there is something else happening.
-
I don't think it's his health or his voice...Paul will appear in a TV show on next Tuesday: "Paul will be appearing on The Ronnie Wood Show this Monday 25th June on Sky Arts 1 HD" (from new web site)
-
Pretty sure the Ronnie Wood show is recorded a few weeks in advance, may explain the night out the 2 of them had a few weeks back
-
Either way, it does not look like there is a health issue. McCartney looks fine and is going out in public and such. I am leaning toward believing what the McCartney camp said. The cancellations were a logistics and business decision.

Today WAS the day.... The day of concert in Horsens. I´m still sad and still a bit disappointed. I have "followed" Paul about 48 years, been to several concerts, booksigning in London and so on and the concert in Stockholm dec 2011 was one of the best. Paul seems always thinking of charity, human and animal rights, to be kind about people, environment and so one. I know this is absolutly one other thing but for me it´s not like Paul This decision a few weeks before is not like him---from my point... I really hope that there will be another chance to see Paul and that I can manage to get that specially day, a great seat (like in Horsens) and so on. I´ll follow the sun with a little tears in my eyes....
-
I'll still be singing the changes tonight at Junior's Farm (doubly of course! ;)) and drink lots of Monkberry Moon Delight! And dream of the last Paul concert I've been to and the next one, which will come I'm sure.
