I don't forsee any litigation being successful but I sure do wish the folks trying the best of luck!!
And I don't know of any stadium that makes sure you have a ticket to the show while trying to park 50,000+ vehicles. You would have been sitting out there an extra 10 hours if they did that and half the stadium would have been empty for the majority of the show But again, wish nothing but success to the group!

Someone on ebay is offering a poster from this show for $5,000.00! That's right, five thousand dollars!
-
Is it that white poster? I'll print you one for $75.00!

Seriously, I just printed that out. LOL...I sent a friend a package & put one of those on the back of the envelope for fun. Hope it doesn't get stolen! The prices those people are charging are getting really out of hand. Even $300.00 is nuts.

Bob, That may be true -- but for an event like this with known traffic congestion, there are clearly methods that make parking function properly and methods that do not. The promoters of this event failed miserably here and put everyone in danger as well. Best, -Mette

Everything from Candlestick is being sold at ridiculous prices... $200 t-shirts, $300 posters, $80 souvenir tickets, etc.

I know first hand that while some different approaches improve traffic slightly, nothing really effects that kind of traffic except time. I don't think they failed terribly at all. As far a known traffic congestion, I was warned by everybody I know that lives in the area that it was a nightmare. Why I moved very close to the venue. But in the grand scheme of things, this event was much smaller than the baseball and football games that had been held there for years. As far as life in danger, I can understand your anger in missing the show (as I would) but claims such as these when absolutely nobody was hurt or injured is a little off the charts. But again, I hope all that missed the show get a refund whether they have a case or not. And although people missing the show is very sad, it does not equate into lives being in danger. I'm sure this is one of the reasons this stadium was being decommissioned. Being out in the middle of nowhere causes plenty of logistical reasons. You go to MSG in NYC, there is no parking so it's a free for all trying to park your car..any large events, especially not in a modern stadium will tend to have these problems And I don't know of any stadium that makes sure you have a ticket to the show while trying to park 50,000+ vehicles. You would have been sitting out there an extra 10 hours if they did that and half the stadium would have been empty for the majority of the show But again, wish nothing but success to the group!

I am still wondering how a city that hosts a huge 3 day festival like Outside Lands and have it work well can eff up something like the McCartney concert. I know hindsight is 20-20, but why oh why did they not do a shuttle like they do @ Outside Lands? Example: http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/shuttlepass/ http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/festival/gettingthere-park.php A one night concert seems easy to organize compared to a 3 day festival with 200,000 attendees. ALSO the festival is put on by Another Planet, same as Paul's concert.

Outside Lands is done at Golden Gate Park which is much closer to city center than Candlestick Park. And there lies in the answer. Easier to plan your resources city center (mass transit and such) for the event. By looks of the area around Candlestick, it looked much more like a not so populated area. I stayed in Daly City and very small but only a tad over a mile to the Stick which is why we stayed there.

More importantly, there are multiple routes that can get you to the vicinity of Golden Gate Park, and multiple transit lines that will get you there. From a strictly transportation point of view, it's a MUCH better place to hold a big a event than Candlestick, which has only one route in and out. It's the difference between a cul-de-sac and a major intersection.

We actually had a tougher time getting out after Paul played OSL last year. Waited & waited for trolley or bus to get a connection to BART Daly City, they never even stopped for us, they were all full. Called a taxi but had to walk down 19th street for it to "maybe" to pick us up. Luckily for us it finally arrived and we got to Daly City BART about 2 hrs after the show ended. At least at Candlestick I had my car so we weren't worried about being stranded

Trying to post one of the pictures I took:

Whoohoo it worked! So here's another. I know it's been done before but always wanted one taken by ME. Also like Brian in the corner

Andromedon: Thank you for the fantastic photos of the concert.

I've been reading about how hard it was for fans to buy merchandise at Candlestick. Was it like that at other US shows this year?
