Other shows started around 840. I think our show started later because soundcheck was late, and I assume that was because of the rainy weather all day. If he was to do another tour CD, I'd use the "Maybe I'm Amazed" from last night because his voice was much stronger. He choked up a little at the beginning, probably thinking about Linda, and then quickly rebounded. "Live and Let Die" blew the crowd away. Those who saw this indoors at another show missed out on a fun fireworks display. The last time I went to the Nats ballpark, the subway was packed extremely tight, standing room only with absolutely no room to breathe let alone move. We were literally pressed together with total strangers. Given that experience, and after a very long day which included a 3 hour commute and then standing in three long lines for another 2 hours just to get to our field seats, there was absolutely no way I was putting my 13 year old through that ride and ruin his first McCartney experience. So yeah, I was one of the ones who cut out during the second encore. We got our money's worth, and heard the last songs on the walk to the subway.

Thanks for all the fabulous pictures, Wallie! We're very excited about Indy tomorrow.

Fantastic show as always, but the venue was terrible. Two hours to get from 1/2 a mile from the stadium to my seat. Corridors with no lighting, trying to find our section. Every toilet in one of the ladies rooms quit flushing after the concert. Fenway Park was much better in every respect. But I still had a great time. A little sad, though, that my "Summer of Paul" is now over, after traveling to NY and Boston and DC. Does anybody know if there will be a downloadable version of the music that's played by the DJ during the film? That's some great music.

Any Paul concert-goer knows that Paul rarely does anything on time according to our watches. It's Paul time when things happen.

what is that green stuffed animal on the piano?

I'm pretty sure it was a grasshopper - a cute reference to Paul's experience in Brazil (I think).

I bet you're not a fan of McCartney II or electronic music, eh?
I have the vinyl of Back To The Egg, Wings Over America, and the one, titled just McCartney. I believe, the solo effort recorded straight into the Studer tape machine moved to his home, The Tripping The Live Fantastic CD set. I actually work a lot with synths , and have since 74 or thereabouts, from modular analog, (I have one) the then next generation poly analog and Kurzweil (for digital) and have been working with these since 1974. I prefer older school, if you will, electronic music such as what Walter/Wendy Carlos did and does. At present, I find scoring to orchestra to be much more challenging than the, say, random elements associated with synth programming, sequencing and the like (and as inferred, anyone, and I mean anyone can buy the plugins and do the sampling remix thing, success dependent on PR department mostly) I appreciate your reply very much and do respect your opinion, but for me, and my son, we both thought that film was way too long and a bit too abstract and stylized for such length, as said before. I try not to assume things about people on forums, myself, when I don't know them :^) To answer another inference, I do not like all of the Wings catalogue by any means near as well as his Beatle work. But I didn't like OblaDi... either back then or Why Don't We Do It In The Road, so apples to oranges. McCartney is an extremely talented man, one of a kind and there will never be another like him, nor The Beatles in this era where everyone and the second cousin on Mom's side is in a band or (even worse) on 7 band bills and playing 1/2 hour if on the trendy club circuit. It is always nice to see a true artist that can go to the max, stamina wise and deliver the goods, as Paul McCartney does.

Here's the best photo I got of Paul last night and I love it. Not sure how to post it though. http//www.flickr.com/photos/99632342@N00/9276028017 Yea! It worked. I usually take a hundred or more photos but was sitting more to the side in Section 5 and between the boom, the lighting and angle, this was the best one I got. Decided to take fewer and just enjoy the show! What a night!

Walliebaby, GREAT photos! So glad you made it to your seat in time to take these. Got home at 130 a.m. after an incredible night with Paul. So thankful for each and every opportunity to see him!

No slight intended! I've just found that people I've talked to who like McCartney II tend to like Paul's pre-show music, and people who don't like that record, and don't like EDM, tend not to. Just different strokes!

Good question. I'd love a copy, too. Actually I'd like a copy of the film and/or some of the photos, too. I wish Paul would publish a big beautiful coffee table book filled with some of his private photos of the Beatles era, Wings era, and throughout. There were some shots in that film that I'd never seen.

A splendid time was guaranteed for all! Our experiences with Paul started at the limo watch...this was the second one I'd done and after waiting for him in the rain in Philly, I vowed I wouldn't do it in the rain again...yet there I was hanging over a forklift to have a "front row view" of our man! (I still can't believe I wasn't yelled at for that!) I filmed the whole process and when in slow motion it looks very good! I got my hands pretty well set on the forklift so I could actually watch him and not just through a lens...it was priceless. Paul arrived at 6:15pm...there were no cops with him. We were told by security that they actually got separated because traffic was THAT bad. In addition to delayed flights, weather, and traffic that's why Paul was so late. This pushed soundcheck back, which pushed the gate time of 6:30 back to 7:15pm. We went around to the pre-show party which was kind of a joke. It was way too many people in way too little space. The only plus side was getting our wristbands and merch with essentially no line. Needless to say, I as just as disappointed with the stadium as I expected. Sending all the field fans down ONE stairwell, keeping the field gates shut after the concert, locking off the field bathrooms, closing all concessions, poor lighting, down right STUPID staff (they don't know ANYTHING about their stadium). When I left Elton John and Billy Joel, I said Paul was the only person that could get me back in this stadium...and now that I've done that...I think I'll travel somewhere else next time, if he even plays there again (I find that doubtful). The patrons distributing wristbands also gave out ponchos "Courtesy of Sir Paul McCartney"...very cool! It was a light rain as we sat waiting on the field...we were Sec. 5 Row 10 Seats 17&18...the stadium also used old chairs that had numbers on them completely confusing everyone. When I got in our row the security guy said "just count!" : But as always, the skies cleared for Sir Paul McCartney to do his show and he came on exactly one hour late at 9pm. A lot of people were getting upset but I don't know what they expect when such a big production starts so late. Two and a half hours is not a lot of time to do all that they do once Paul enters the venue. Now the show- Paul sounded SPECTACULAR. There were a few vocal blips, but I would not say his voice was weak at all. He hit a real stinker on one of the accapella breaks in "Paperback Writer" and as mentioned, he was getting a bit emotional during "Maybe I'm Amazed". The only song that probably wasn't too well received was "My Valentine". That was the only time I really saw people leaving my section. The setlist was probably the most eclectic I've ever heard him do, and as mentioned before it had a lot more happy songs in it! All the new Wings material was very well received, especially "Hi, Hi, Hi"! And while a lot of the same old stories are still there, they have changed a bit! My favorite was when he started talking about George with Most of you probably know by now... But overall, it did not feel as repetitive as St. Louis did. The end of the show is finally starting to be spiced up...however, I think he still needs to rejuvenate the encores a bit. Leaving the show was just as disastrous as getting in, but the metro station was downright scary. Going down the escalators we didn't know how many people were at the bottom, so we just kept going but there was nowhere to go and I really felt like I was in some news footage of "CROWD TRAMPLED AFTER MCCARTNEY SHOW". My merch bag handles broke so I screamed "SHIT!" at the top of my lungs and a few people moved I had to carry it like a baby the whole ride back! : But we met some really great fans on the ride back including a woman that was at the ONLY concert The Beatles played in Baltimore in 1964 So thanks for everything Paul...next time, I'll go for the center section even if I'm a bit farther back...I'm still probably leaving out a lot...it'll trickle in here over time .....till then...SEE YA NEXT TIME!

Also...it was great to meet Tiggywinkle out on the field who was just a row behind us! Jen...tried giving you a call, but understand now- glad the concert was better than your pre-show experiences

OH! Yeah we got signs...tiggy helped me out with that! He didn't really say anything or point but he did sort of freeze up when he looked down at the front...anyone else notice that? Honestly, it didn't go over as well as I thought it would.

Did Paul sing "Michelle"?

Nope. Gotta say. Tonight is kind of a letdown after the wonders of last night's show. I think I've got Paul Withdrawl.
