If no one else is experiencing this problem and all your devices are ,then I can only think its your ISP that's the problem. Have you taken your laptop to an internet cafe (or a friends house) and tried logging in using their wi-fi?

Suppose my wife wanted to join this site with her own logon, shouldn't she be able to do it even though it is from the same computer and wi-fi access as me.

Probably not. I expect Maccaboard have an anti-virus program in place to prevent spambots from setting up multiple fake accounts from the same source. I think being able to set up a new account without totally deleting all traces of your original account is unlikely. On balance not being able to create a new account is unrelated to the other problems that Nancy has been experiencing.

Nancy, I have been aware of your issue since last Friday and have reported back to MPL immediately. I am still waiting for their reply/advice.
Strangely enough I have experienced the same problem over a year ago and after several attempts to fix my account, it could not be saved and I lost it in the end.
Since your PMs seem to be affected to, I will report any news in this thread but tbh, I am not too hopeful.

Yes I am. New sign ups have been disabled temporarily after the spam attack back in September. Looks like they have forgotten to turn them on again!

Thank you for answering here. If they will just turn back on new sign-ups, I could have my daughter create me a new account at her home which I can then try (and it will hopefully work properly) In the past, there have been several people who have forgotten their passwords and then were able to just create a new account with a different screen name, so I might be able to do that here at my home.

P.S. And If Yankeefan's wife wanted to have her own account, she should be able to.
When Liz tells me they've enabled new sign-ups, I'll try to create a new account from my home if my other technical problems are still happening. -

That's a bit drastic,having to start all over again just for forgetting a password? There should be a system in place here where you can reset a forgotten password. I've just had a look at the Settings and you can reset a password or request a new one but....and there's always a BUT
...you need to know your original password in order to do it.
