Yeah...afterglow.

We know Paul will take the stage between 8:50 to 9 PM.
How do we know this?
Experience with 44 Paul concerts. Paul is the only artist I would let keep me waiting that long more than once because he doesn't even apologize. Attended a concert last night where the artist did apologize. His plane was late due to rain. It had poured in our area all day. He was probably lucky to even get to town.

Just out of sheer curiosity, what show was that?
-
I do not ever remember waiting on Paul more than 20 minutes before the show started.
-
Even those of us who can't get there will have a vested interest in this show. I think there'll be interest in his voice first and foremost, maybe even above what the setlist is.

Not that I'm aware of Tom

And I don't remember waiting for less than 20 minutes for Paul. The only shows he's been on time for that I've been at are the ones he recorded for the GENYC DVD, and the Fenway shows because of the curfew.

I'll be there! With 2 friends who have never seen Paul. Should be a fun, LATE, night!

Hi Vin! Hope you all have a great time. I was thinking of you last week when it was reported that Wrigley Field had been documented as the filthiest MLB ball park.

The start time probably varies from venue to venue.... ... and also depends on whether there's an opening act of some kind. (ie, an opening band..... that crazy Cirque Du Soleil intro from '02.... a pre-show film) But if there is NOTHING happening before Paul, I'm guessing he'll come onstage around 8:25- 8:30-ish. So we shall see. I don't remember reading anything about any pre-show entertainment for the previous ON THE RUN shows. Anyone know?

He hasn't had a support group since the Summer Live '09 string of US dates.

Which were totally needless. The Script opened for Paul at the Atlanta '09 show. They had a fairly big hit at the time, but we just tolerated them. Almost like suffering through comedian Jackie Kahane's tired routine before an Elvis concert in the '70s.

9pm is his standard start time all over the world except the crazy South American gigs where he starts really late.

Yeah, The Script opened at Citi Field and they were very unenjoyable. They didn't even seem to enjoy it. How does anyone open for Paul? You can't prep for that any other way than playing his songs before the show! It was raining during their set (stopped for Paul) and nobody payed atention, and the sound was horrible. Similiar experience at Fedex Field with Theivery Corporation, minus the rain.

Am pretty sure that both of the Wrigley gigs started around 8:30 and I have been at other shows that have started before 9 pm. So I don't think we can really generalize a "standard" start time for him. He's always on BY 9 pm, tho.

He had a DJ spinning some Paul song remixes prior to the On The Run shows, but he didn't affect the time Paul took the stage. Paul did that on his own.

Haha! I read that story. It is filithy. It's just not a good place to watch a baseball game, let alone a concert! And, if the rumors are true, and the Rolling Stones are there next year, that will make 3 years in a row I have to go to that dump. Paul, The Boss, and now possibly the Stones.
