Just a reminder for anyone in So. California: Rusty Anderson, lead guitarist in Paul McCartney?s band, will perform Wednesday, July 29, at the Fullerton Sports Complex as part of the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department?s popular outdoor summer concert series. All concerts in the series will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. While food will be available for purchase at the complex, concert-goers are welcome to bring a picnic supper to enjoy, as well as lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Anderson, who also sings and writes songs, describes his music as ?eclectic,? not electronic: ?electronic music is brilliant, but at the same time I feel detached from it because it?s not played by humans. I like the sound of human beings hitting things. Strings touched by fingers, rooms of people interacting.? In addition to McCartney, Anderson has shared the stage with such artists as Elton John, Willie Nelson, Cat Stevens and Gwen Stefani. His debut album, ?Undressing Underwater,? features 10 songs rooted in hard rock guitars and quirky 1960s pop. The 18-acre Fullerton Sports Complex is located at 560 E. Silver Pine St., which is off Bastanchury Road, west of Brea Boulevard, in the Brea Dam flood control basin. Parking for the disabled will be available at the site. Further information about the concerts may be obtained by calling the Parks and Recreation Department?s Information Hotline at (714) 738-3333, or the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545. I'm fairly sure he'll have copies of his new CD available for purchase.

You're welcome. The park was packed with fans, friends and family (Rusty grew up nearby). The concert was great, he played several cuts from his new CD as well as a few from Undressing Underwater. Todd O'Keefe (bass player) sang one of his songs, Matt McKenna (guitar) also sang, and they ended with an awesome cover of Junior's Farm. The crowd loved it all and it was over too soon!

Yes, thanks Music for posting the photos... ! I am still annoyed to have missed it, but glad that you and others got to go. They do a great version of Junior's Farm, don't they ?? I'm still in Alaska -- presently huddled in a dingy I-cafe in Skagway truly enjoying futzing around on the Web for an hour -- I don't think of myself as technology-attached, but I've had no web or phone (apparently SPRINT has yet to discover Alaska) since leaving Vancouver last week and am having withdrawls.... (which I actually find a little disturbing... guess I am a creature of my age afterall... hmmm...); but it is Beautiful here and I saw 3 pods of whales yesterday -- 2 humpback groups and a group of Orcas --one with a small offspring... amazing.
