Hi Harley, thanks for sharing your story. Hope you'll manage to get your cd signed the next time.

Ok so Rusty's new cd is a genius work. Honestly I'm severely, hopelessley addicted. Is there anyone out here with info on when and if he might play some gigs significantly east of CA this year? I live in NC and want to see him play these songs live if possible.

Kristi, I'm curious about that sitting picture.
....But I am including a few that she took at the sound check and then a couple concert photos -- including a priceless one of Abe at the concert -- it's just so Abe; making everyone laugh -- So I had to include it even though this is the Rusty thread... http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/JRsmhjTe5UCve_y6dioiqw?authkey=Gv1sRgCMLY8b6i6qud0AE&feat=directlink
Ha! I love that Abe pic! Lemme see if I can embed it.... http://lh4.ggpht.com/_UZBijzs40rc/SpDnGz1EMjI/AAAAAAAAAB4/yS7rkCkVNAw/s640/Gotta%20love%20Abe.JPG There ya go. That is classic. Nicely done (lucky girl).

I so wanted to see Rusty tonight. I have to be ready to sing at 8 am tomorrow morning and then have an audition with my brand new 60's band (our first time onstage together) at 2, so I couldn't go tonight! I hope someone here will gie us a full report.

Dear All, That photo of Abe and Paul is just wonderful. I still don't know how to add photos inline here. But, I've posted the rest of Paul Tulsa photos I have so far. Music & Fun Album http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3341596&id=546292291&saved#/album.php?aid=135442&id=546292291 Folks are sending more to me. Let me know if you have some to add to my "Tulsa Master Work of Paul" and if you wish to have the results of my work. Also, I have not gotten an email or phone for my "left of me" seat mate at BOK who I know has been on these forums, for he HUGGED ME WHEN I ARRIVED! Please let me know how to reach you. Don't forget folks, Abbey Road on the River is just a wonderful Beatles experience; and now, we have learned that it is NOT moving, but is doubling the fun. We will be in Louisville Memorial Day Weekend and D.C. Labor Day Weekend 2010. Hey guys: Well, I made it to Rusty's show at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. (I looked for you, Musickeepsmesane but it was pretty dark in there so I missed you if you were there...?) The show went great -- It's a great venue, as it has two rooms, one for listening to the performers and one for chatting, with a bar in each -- I recommend it highly-- it has a great atmosphere. I got there later than I intended, as the friends whom I was supposed to be meeting got their wires crossed, but I still made it in time. The band was a lot tighter than the last time I had seen them back in April, when some of the songs were so new (but still with a few little bloopers that let you know it's "live!" ). Rusty started with Hurt Myself and Ol'Sparky from the first album but then played a lot from the new one (it's called Born on Earth, for the uninitiated -- it's really good; buy it ) -- and threw in Catbox Beach (a favorite of mine) later in the set. (I am not a good "setlist" person, so hopefully someone else noted the actual songs and order played, for those interested.) They did play a good version of "Private Moon Flower" -- not my favorite, but I really liked what they did with it live... Rusty seemed in good voice, as did the other performers that I saw that night; I kind of wondered how -- the smoke down there from the fires really flared my allergies and I had a nasty headache pretty much the whole weekend -- but I guess those who live in SoCal are more acclimated to smog, or something. I did finally speak to Rusty for a moment to thank him -- he was kind of swamped with friends and admirers -- and as usual I didn't say what I intended -- to Rusty or anyone else in the band, but that's kinda typical of me. ops: I enjoyed the show, I just wish I hadn't had a splitting headache from the smoke, but then those poor people losing their homes down there really have something to complain about... The smoke looked like a mushroom cloud on Saturday morning... Sunday it was even worse... But I hadn't been to Hollywood in a while -- it's always entertaining from a people watching standpoint, if nothing else Maybe someone else got some photos from the show ??

Sadly, I wasn't there. I'd been in San Diego getting ready for a trade show and the contractors weren't done with my electrical early enough for me to leave San Diego and get to the venue in time for Rusty's performance. I can't tell you how disappointed I was.

Oh, I wondered... that's too bad! It was kind of a bad night for me, but at least I got there.. I feel bad that you didn't make it... But at least since you live down there you will probably get another chance... hopefully before too long. Maybe we can meet next time. I hope that the trade show went well, at least. Kristi
