He performed "The Night They Drove Ol' Dixie Down". That's the only one he played that isn't on the CD.
Is it a cover, or did Rusty write it? Or is it something from Eulogy or Ednaswap? Who did the original, if it's a cover?
-

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down by The Band Album: The Band Date: 1970 Recorded in Sammy Davis Jr.s' house in Los Angeles. The Band rented it and converted a poolhouse into a studio to record their second album. Featured the 3-part harmonies of Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, and Rick Danko. Covered by Joan Baez in 1971. It was her biggest hit, reaching U.S. #3 and U.K. #6. Used as the B-side to "Up On Cripple Creek." The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down Virgil Caine is the name, and I served on the Danville train, 'Til Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again. In the winter of '65, We were hungry, just barely alive. By May the tenth, Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh so well, (Chorus) The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the bells were ringing, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the people were singin'. They went La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, Back with my wife in Tennessee, When one day she called to me, "Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E. Lee!" Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good. Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest, But they should never have taken the very best. (Chorus) Like my father before me, I will work the land, Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand. He was just eighteen, proud and brave, But a Yankee laid him in his grave, I swear by the mud below my feet, You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat. (Chorus and fade) I think Rusty was trying to make a point here. He as much as said so in his intro to the song.

Ah, thanks. DianaDi, I am going to Rusty's show, and I will bring my camera...I can't promise good pictures though. I don't like drawing attention to myself, so I don't really want to use flash...the one picture I have developed from Rusty's last show didn't turn out well (although the colors were pretty cool...) you can't see his face, and for some reason when I scanned it in it looked like someone else. No promises on pictures, but I'll try...and since Martha, Rusty's webmaster, will be there, I imagine she'll get good pictures for the website.

Everything is OK with your pic, because I can see it.

OK, I think I'm not allowed to post pictures from my Yahoo! website to a message board, which could be why it's not showing up. Sorry. Or, you can try to right-click on the picture and select SHOW PICTURE...maybe that'll work.
