I've never been short of reasons to love Macca, but one of the latest ones is introducing me to the brilliance that is Rusty Anderson. I'd still be in the dark if it hadn't've been for the tour.
Me too, I first saw him on the BITUS DVD. Funny how things come about sometimes. And if I hadn't discovered Rusty, I probably wouldn't have discovered his friend Zallen's music, or the cdbaby website. I hadn't heard of it before but I've bought loads of CDs there since. There is so much great music out there, unfortunately you have to dig a bit deeper than your local record shop.
It's good to know that there's still great musicians out there who are dedicated to the music, not just be there for show and tell (and fame and money)

Totally agree

Me too. It's a pity thought that artists like this often don't get the fame and recognition they deserve. I would get such a kick out of hearing one of Rusty's songs on the radio! Although I'm sure he's probably getting plenty of airplay in the LA area. Has he been getting any airplay in your part of the US, Beataholic?

If he has then I don't know about it! The only two worthy radio stations I hear is Majic 102.7 Oldies and Big 106 (where they play late Beatles to Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Motley Crue, etc, the "heavier" stuff). Other than that, my CDs are in the CD player

If anyone does see him live, please let us know what he sang.

Same here. We don't have a great selection of radio stations over here, they all play mostly chart music (most of which I don't particularly like). So I usually just stick on a CD.

Ahhhhh....I see....I'm not as big of an idiot as I thought I was.

When I was looking at the revamped- new Rusty site, I was thinking "ooo ooo ah nice ooo" kinda thing and then I'm going through all these buttons and pages and thinking "okay...either some things are missing or I'm losing my mind" There's a few times where I thought that I lost my mind-- one time when I was attending college there was an area outside where I would use the payphones to call my friends and mom. Well I went the usual way and walked right into the utility room! Before I did see that the door knob was broken apart but I had assumed that maybe someone decided to be stupid and stole a doorknob (who would do that?). But when I walked in, I really thought that I lost my mind! Sorry if I bored you...I just felt like talking...

And "bump" for our other man too! We've been neglecting him a bit lately, and I think he deserve some attention:
-
Corinne has posted on Jorie's board that a Rusty tour may be in the works for July/August: http://www.xsorbit4.com/users/jorie/index.cgi?board=Tour&action=display&num=1074448127 I wonder if this could mean that the rumours that Paul will be touring this summer are untrue, or that he'll be touring without Rusty!! I'm not sure which would be worse.

Love the picture. I don't know what would be worse either. Hopefully he'll have time to do both.

To tell the truth, I think Paul's tour rumors are false. I mean, from what I could understand, he just had a baby, his wife is going/recovering from surgery, and he's working on his new record, and concentrating on his charites with landmines, breast cancer, and animal rights, and who knows what else on his plate...Paul's a busy man! And I'm sure the other band members have other things to do and going to London to record with Paul. I really think that Paul will start the touring ball next year in 2005 once all is settled and well and organized. And I'm positive that now Paul wouldn't go anywhere with his excellent guitarist

I sooo hope you're right! I adore Paul and would love to see him play live again no matter who his band are, but I would be more that a little disappointed if Rusty wasn't part of the package. No one can play the solo on Maybe I'm Amazed like Rusty. The same goes for the rest of the band too - I think they added a lot to the last tour. I wonder if Rusty's own tour plans include anywhere this side of the world? I'm keeping my fingers corssed that they do. If he doesn't make it over here I may seriously consider going to the US to see him!

I think this might be it. It's the q & a from his old website: http://www.rustyanderson.com/pdfs/rusty_interview.pdf Be patient - it takes a while to downlaod I just love the picture of Rusty on this site. It's probably one of my favourites. I don't know why - there's just something about it.: It's from: http://titan.glo.be/~kg001310/paris253.html
