Brian Bingham:
I can hardly believe it! It's true! Paul McCartney is really coming to Edmonton,Alberta,Canada on November 28,2012 at Rexall Place and I want to be there! On August 22,1971 I saw Led Zeppelin in Vancouver,B.C. at the Pacific Colesium. On October 15,1981 I saw The Rolling Stones in Seattle,Washington,U.S.A. at the Kingdome. In February 1964 I saw The Beatles on TV on the Ed Sullivan Show. I turned 12 years old in March 1964. Now my life long wish to see Paul McCartney live in concert in my own hometown is about to come true! Life is bliss!
WOW! Amazing story! I'm so jealous of your life!! The Stones and Zeppelin are the two other acts I would DIE to see! Both second to Paul McCartney of course! CANNOT believe he is coming here!

Officially bouncing off the walls STILL! Over 12 hours after buying my tickets lol. Being 20, it's super hard to be a Beatles fan!!! I've been in love with them since I was 16 and started filling my head with everything Fab Four. And not a lot of people my age "get it" . So to find an amazing bunch of people who totally get the inside of my head is AWESOME! So thank you to all you guys for being the great Macca fans that you are!!! We've had each others back through this whole pre-sale process and the feeling of community has been great!! Peace and Love! Kass

Hi there. I am confident that there are many, many, many, many people in your demographic that share your appreciation for The Beatles. Yeah, the current crop of Top 40 (alleged) artists is dumbing-down our youth more than ever, but plenty of kids love The Beatles.

Haha well there is and there isn't. Not many in the small town where I live anyways. I've found a couple other kindred spirits, but it's definitely tough!!!! The other day I was out with one of my friends and she started blasting some I don't even know what the heck this is Top 40 music. And she asked me if I had ever heard it. I never had. Apparently it's like THE #1 song right now lol. Too bad I live in the 60's and 70's in my head

I'm 40 yrs old and back when I was a teen I was the only person in my group of friends that was a Beatles fan. There was no internet then (how did I survive!) and so nowadays it's good, there's online communities like this one where we can all get together. Music is just something that either touches you, or it does not. So, you like what you like and if it gives you that ahh feeling, you just go with it.

Yeah, I was 15 years old when I joined this forum almost 10 years ago. I lived in a small town then, now to the bustling Edmonton. I really had no one to speak with other than other forum users.... What did you guys do without the Internet and forums. I heard there were newsletters and mailing or something... ah, I'm too young to fully know from my ignorance!

------------------ somehow I messed up the quote, reply begins here: Well, before the internet there were few ways to connect with others and at that time I didn't have any money to be involved in that, being a teenager. I had records and that was all. There were music magazines with classified ads telling you about newsletters and fan clubs, which you could join and I know some people did but any money I had at that time I would put toward buying more music instead. If you wanted to hear music, you had to save up the money and walk to the mall, and buy an entire record. If it was a newly released record you'd probably only like a few songs but that was the only way to buy music then. It sounds like I'm talking about the dark ages here I know! haha Anyway it's really great that now I can just buy the music I like and not a whole album for a few songs. I always had the feeling back then that some artists knew they only had to do a few 'greats' and then the others could be whatever filled up the required number of songs.

You were missing a quote bb tag in there somewhere. It's okay, I fixed it. Anyways, yeah, that sounds like something I would have done and I don't taking getting one song off an album for granted... Unless it's someone I really like, then I would get the albums and the mailings if I really, really, really liked them. I would probably just listen to the radio back then in lieu of. Kind of a hard choice though.

Yeah it's great now, there's all kinds of ways to listen to music! youtube, etc, all great. We used to watch music videos on Friday night on this one hour show. That was the only time we saw videos for songs (before MTV). Everyone in school would have to wait until Monday to talk about 'wow did you see the new video by Madonna?' haha. When cassettes came out, most of the people I knew would put a tape recorder next to the radio and copy the songs that way. That's how you got the mix tapes too. In the 1990's I saved up some money and bought these Beatles bootleg CD sets, called Artifacts (1, 2, and 3). They were great! If you have not heard them, look it up. You can probably get the recordings online somewhere. It's mostly the practice sessions and bits that did not make the albums, with jokes and laughter throughout. Thinking about what I'm talking about here though, The Beatles and Wings, were all before this time. The Beatles were putting out their last album and broke up the year I was born. Paul is the same age as my dad!

Definitely get that!!! I think that the internet has been both a good thing and bad thing for the music industry. I feel sometimes like I'm going backwards, I'm strating my vynil collection and bought an old turntable. And I love the sound of the vinyl, so much nicer, I feel like that's the way I'm supposed to listen to it lol.

That's cool. I still have all of the Beatles records I bought throughout the years but got rid of most of my other ones. They were all scratched anyway and I no longer have a turntable. I like that CD's and digital music is in a smaller format. Records used to take up so much space. (oh and what about those 8-tracks, yuck) It's awesome that you are checking out the old formats and older music. There's so much music out there, past and current (some I would not call music but hey haha). I like some stuff from 1920 all the way up to now.

Yup. I have a few Paul McCartney things on vinyl, actually and have inherited an old turntable myself. It has a warmer sound to it... or maybe I'm crazy... But I love that I like both new formats and old. Okay, some older formats really sucked, but whatever.

Wow. I did mix tapes, but at the time I guess it was more advanced, so I used cassettes with a radio, but it could actually record radio. This was in the late 90's/early 2000's. Nice, I think I've heard of Artifacts actually. One of my favourite bootlegs (kind of) was the Christmas messages. I had to get those off of the Internet... this was before Beatles Rock Band was out by a good 6 years...

Was there a regular priced ticket presale today? Wtf? I got an email saying 1pm and they said they were sold out before and after. So much confusion right now.
Pretty sure the premium sale just took them all. Didn't expect that much demand like that... that quickly. Wow. I was on at 10am ready to look at both the VIP stuff and the premium sales. They seriously ran dry.
The pre-sales - all of them, main site, TM et al - did have a limited number of tickets to release. There does remain a significant proportion of each venues capacity yet to be released in the general sale so try again today when those open. I posted a few tips and hints on how to be successful here: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2614965#2614965 Best wishes to all those still trying to secure seats. Martin

This is true. But I don't know in terms of the VIP tickets, but for general, I can still see stuff being available because of limited number of blocks being allocated to the pre sale. Thanks Martin.
