The lyrics 1956 to present
-
I was able to purchase the signed edition and am very pleased. There are only 175 copies and one is sure that the signature is authentic. In fact I ended up with two copies. Unsure what to do with the second copy.
-
Someone posted the US link for the signed edition but didn't bother posting the UK link so here it is:
The Lyrics: Special Limited Edition
(Hyperlinked to appease the moaning minnies on here that moan everytime a links not clickable!)

I was speaking to a bookseller who has told me that pricing is a total free for all. Booksellers haven't been told to sell it at a specific price, they're plucking them out of thin air. So I think there will be a lot of variation in the prices. But yeah they seem like gold dust! Not had any joy thus far.

Sell it for twice the price you paid for it so that basically you get the first one free.

Did you pay for both books? And did they come from different booksellers?
Sell the 2nd copy for $$$$!
-
Maybe I can cancel one of the books. Plus I wouldn't really want to take advantage of anyone.
Also I think the resale market will be limited. I was charged just shy of $3000.00 US with the sales tax.
-
Pipette,
If you wish to sell your second copy, please let me know. I haven't been able to access my PM for some time so that probably won't work, but if you are interested, please post a public response and I will then post my contact info.
Thanks.
Brian

That's about £2183......its a lot of money to shell out but why not, its an investment and you'll have the pleasure of owning something that's been within inches of Macca's fingers.

I am sure you will find someone to sell it to. You're in the states?
-
Yes, I am in the states. I guess I should not panic.
-
Pipette ... I sent you a personal message through the maccaboard a few hours ago. I'm also in the states and would gladly buy the book from you since I have had no luck elsewhere. If you do decide to sell, please contact me. I'm a longtime member on this board. Thanks...

No, don't panic. I'm know many of us will be interested. How did you get 2 anyway? 2 different stores?
-
Thank you everybody.
I am not receiving (and cannot send ) pm's for some reason. When I actually
have the books in my possession I will post here.
Yes, I purchased from two different bookstores.
The book store for the first copy I "purchased" seemed to be a bit disorganized. I was not feeling
very confident about the transaction so I was able to secure another copy from a different seller.
I should not have doubted the efficiency of the book store, but my adrenaline was pumping throughout
and I really wanted a signed copy of The Lyrics.

PM's are hard to figure out at times here. Well, a lot is a pain to figure out! But if you click on that little envelope in the upper right hand corner it will take you to the pms that have been sent to you. Ans that is also wher you would send a new pm or answer a pm.

The signed edition will look great on the shelf next to George's "I Me Mine" Genesis edition but it also looks like it would fit right in on your shelf next to a copy of "Extra Texture"

The interview goes out on 23 October and, the following Monday, recordings of McCartney reading from his new book, Lyrics, will also be available on BBC Sounds
-
I wish these were available here in the US.
