Bob Weir came out and did Hi Hi Hi and Helter Skelter with Paul. Ron Gronkowski of the NE Patriots did back up for Helter Skelter. Nothing was cut from encore. No one called on stage thankfully.

Great show as expected...I'm guessing people from outside NE won't appreciate the Gronk appearance...but that was almost worth the price of admission...LOL...And I wouldn't call what he did 'back up'...he made some attempt to dance while playing air guitar...If it were anyone else besides Gronk, that shtick wouldn't work the way Gronk can make that work Anyway - other notes...I didn't realize Chris Holmes would be there in person...a cool little aside. Also, I knew, but had forgotten that The Long and Winding Road was not in the set list and that Here There and Everywhere was now played on Piano...so it caught me a little off guard to hear 'Long and Winding Road' type of intro only to lead into Here There and Everywhere,,,Temporary Secretary comes off better live than I thought it would I felt like the energy was generally high in Fenway tonight and it led to a particularly enthusiastic performance by Paul and band...There was nothing in particular that stuck out tonight from past Paul concerts I've been too (aside from the Gronk thing mentioned above), but yet it was a cool sharing the same space as Paul once again
-
Almost forgot...could hear some of the sound check from outside the park...a partial list included C Moon, Celebration, Midnight Special and Lady Madonna...there were several other songs I couldn't make out (came across somewhat muddy from outside)...but I can tell of the songs I couldn't make out, two of them sounded to be jams of some sort and two seemed to be structured songs that I couldn't quite make out
-
I did forget one other detail, Paul and band played through some serious mistake during We Can Work It Out...I'll have to find it on Youtube to give better details....but it wasn't a vocal flub...it was something during the middle of the song where the band completely lost time with the song for a moment...but got through it...they seemed to make the same mistake again, but less noticeable later in the song

Was Helter Skelter done instead of Birthday or in addition to it, since you say nothing was cut?

Birthday was there too (he mentioned it was Abe's father's birthday)

_____________________________________________________ Thanks Rich. Glad you were able to make the show. My daughter lives right outside of Boston but I won't be there until next month. I'll have to ask her if she heard any rock music coming in the direction of Fenway last night. The video with Gronk was very funny. I will bet it will make all the rounds on Boston TV...not just sports' channels but news as well. A nice divergence from all the bad news. Paul actually sounded pretty good singing Helter Skelter. For being at the end of the concert, his voice surprisingly sounded pretty strong. How was his voice in general throughout the show. And of course I have to ask how was his vocals on Maybe I'm Amazed. While it is a "signature" tune, I personally wished he would replace it with an easier song. What songs did he sound best on? Thanks again for the reports.

Just read 3 reviews on last night's Fenway show. All 3 were very positive which kind of surprised me a little bit. They all brought up Macca's current voice but they did it in a very positive way realizing how much Paul has given to the world for almost 60 years.

I thought he sounded pretty good...could hear a few bumps along the way...but no one seemed to mind and it was a great night....I'll have to see if anyone posted a video of we can work it out when I get home from work tonight....as I mentioned above, the band seemed to make a very noticeable mistake and now I'm curious to hear it again

Did anyone else notice Paul playing Here, There, and Everywhere on piano? Was it in a lower key?

Thanks for posting that...I wonder if I'm guilty of 'mis-hearing' something...because I didn't hear the issue I thought I heard last night (but then again, I'm at work listening at a very low volume)

Sometimes the sound in a baseball stadium bounces around a bit, so it may have something to do with where you were sitting. I once was in the stands for a concert at a ballpark, and there was a weird echo that I would hear every so often. Friends of mine sitting near the stage didn't hear that at all.
