I'm SO excited for tomorrow!! Are we ready, Lincoln-goers?? Six hours of work, three hours of driving, and PAUL!!!! I cannot WAIT to see him for the fourth time!! Anyone know if Paul's been getting press in Lincoln? I'm definitely going to try and grab a local paper tomorrow and Tuesday.
I agree, you should be exited. I can never see him enough! I never know when he might decide to scale back or call it a day. I just got in after flight cancelations etc.. So I don't know about the press. Tomorrow, sit back, and enjoy the man for as long as he plays!!

A couple of people have posted pictures of Paul in Omaha having an ice cream on the street with Warren Buffett. Here is one by Tom White:

http://parkandgo.org/media/documents/parkmap.pdf Click that link and you'll see a more detailed map of the parking around downtown Lincoln. Pay attention towards the top, or North, top of the map. Having attended the Arena for basketball games and used the earlier referred to festival parking, which will be to the north of the Pinnacle Bank Arena, just south of where you see Haymarket Park, which is the baseball park for the A level pro team and U of Nebraska baseball/softball. I have used that parking before and it will get you right to the Arena through the pedestrian bridge. It takes you to an upper level entrance so you'll need to go down the steps when you get to the Arena itself. Just to the left, or West, of Memorial Stadium, is Stadium Drive Parking Garage and that might be a good suggestion. It's maybe 4 blocks from the north side of the Arena. Might also offer a good exit for getting out of town, if you are heading towards Omaha, by getting on Salt Creek Roadway. There will probably be some parking to the North of Memorial Stadium off of Salt Creek Roadway. That might be a 8-10 block walk to the Arena south entrance. Hope this helps, and that it makes sense! If anything I would suggest avoiding the few blocks just south and southeast of the Arena. Part of the road right in front of the south entrance to the Arena will be blocked off. That leads to some traffic congestion.
Brady - If the upper level entrance at the end of the pedestrian bridge is not open yet, will I be able to walk down to get around the Arena to another entrance? Supposed to go to a certain entrance at 4.
-
Yes, that pedestrian bridge will give you the option at the Arena itself to take stairs down to the ground floor or actually to continue on the bridge as it goes to what I call the front, or main entrance and ramps down to the ground level. It will get you there. That front entrance is on the south side, or "R" street on a map. Although, as some may have seen, they have renamed that portion of "R" street Abbey Road since the concert date was announced. I would think that you soundcheckers will be going in somewhere near that area. But do follow the directions you were give. It's a bit wet this morning here in Lincoln but it's supposed to clear up this afternoon and be clear skies for this evening. It will be cool when the show is out, possibly lower 50's. Not gonna get a damn thing done at my work today!!!

I'm about 5 minutes from the venue. I've walked over there this morning. All they have is the sign on the venue and an Abbey Road street sign. No banners on the street signs like in other cities. I did see the South Entrance. Just past the Fusker store, there is a small entrance marked Haymarket. I think that is where we are supposed to go. Brian posted a picture of himself in a bar or restaurant here watching the World Cup. It must have rained overnight but it is not currently raining.

Thanks to a very generous board member, I will be joining the Lincoln crowd! Who's doing the limo watch?
I think I see what's going on here Normally I'd say yes to limo watch but this one time it's soundcheck
To all the awesome soundcheck people right upfront for Lincoln- how about some Ram On signs before Something? Mine went unnoticed at Miller Park.
I made a Ram On sign. What is the story behind it?

Leaving home in a bit for the drive to LINCOLN! Looking forward to meeting others for soundcheck. Forget 64 . . .sorry about your flights but glad to know you made it! Brady . . .we're not going to have any issues getting into that festival lot at around 3 are we . . .I'm banking on the fact it won't be anywhere near full yet? maccascruff . . .thanks for the entrance info. As I told you, that's totally different than what I was told by the arena earlier this week : See you all there . . .I'm wearing a purple WINGS shirt and white pants . . .introduce yourselves!!!

The day of a McCartney concert is always exciting. Enjoy, folks!

Seuss--You should be good to go with your parking plans. And yes, for those of you that will be wondering when you see that big football stadium with those giant red colored "N" all over it, well, that's part of the University. The "N", you see, stands for Knowledge. Have a great time hanging out downtown and enjoying the show!

Not in the eyes of a die hard Colorado fan. I won't say what we call it. Let's say if the concert were in that stadium, I would not be here.

I will be hanging with Seuss at the sound check, wearing a gold Wings shirt and khaki capris. Do make yourselves known. That's the fun part. I called the venue and after being put on hold, was told to be at the South Entrance by 4 PM. That is where we check in. Then we will be shown to our area or whatever the plan is. I know in St. Louis, we didn't see our area until after the sound check. We stood inside the arena and waited. We stood and stood. Hoping for a small crowd, but lady used the word "lots". Don't know what she thinks is lots given the tickets in the first five rows that sold for $250.

Have fun! As I posted in Fargo thread, at both SC's I have attended this tour, there was a room we were escorted into first, where there were some small appetizers available and the bar was open, so no standing in the hallway! Back to the same room for veggie buffet after SC.

Seuss Sounds good! I just got back from walking around the arena. The trucks and luxury buses are around the back. If anyone is thinking about the limo watch that's where I think it should be. There's really no where in the front that I can see to enter by car. A few people walking around, one guy was interviewing and filming, other than that pretty quiet. The area around the arena is really nice, so far the weather is great.
-
It is a nice area & we will be inside before it gets too crazy. Really hoping we don't just stand after check-in.

We're finally on our way to Lincoln from Kansas City!! We'll all be seeing Macca in a few hours!!
