"Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions

The "complaint" is that McCartney has almost ignored the last 30 years of his career as a artist in his concerts lately. Some people think McCartney is more than Beatle Paul or a part of Wings and would like a bigger part of the show to reflect the last 30 years. You and others love the current setlist and that is fine, you and everyone else is entitled to that opinion. I just ask that people who disagree a bit get the same respect I am showing you and others.
I don't have any problem with people who complains, in fact, I'm one of those, and I support your point, I also think he would still drop more songs, and add Silly Love Songs (this one was reworked in Broad Street, sounds completely different from the WATSOS version), No More Lonely Nights, Figure of Eight, My Brave Face or some other gems that aren't from Wings or Beatles. And of course we have the right to say what we want as long as we're not offending anyone.
That's it! NOT OFFENDING ANYONE! Or calling them names.

Yes, but wouldn't a real fan who enjoys Paul just be thankful for the songs he's playing? Lets face it guys, Paul doesn't have many touring years left. This could be the last major tour. He's obviously not going to do a full solo show, or full Fireman show, and as much as we would love to see that, it ain't gonna happen. Ever. So why don't the real fans sit back, suck it up, have some snacks, and enjoy this tour.
You know that a discussion has reached a low point when someone starts talking about "real" fans. Everyone here is a real fan. At least ... I don't think I'm imaginary.

Paul has paid more-than-sufficient homage to the legacy of songs that made him a legend. And they have all been equally, sufficiently documented in concert-videos and live-albums. Count 'em. What I'm saying is that folks like me, who have made his '80s/'90s/2K albums Gold and Platinum, deserve a show for us. After nearly 25 years of "naaah-na-na-nana-nah-nahhhhhh" concert-experiences, this is not an unreasonable request.
You don't DESERVE anything. It's your Privilege to see him, not vice versa. He doesn't owe you a thing. That's the kind of attitude from boardies here that always gets me. Who do they think they are anyway, saying that Paul owes them a gig or a setlist or anything else?!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Maybe Randy was just testing out his Clint Eastwood impression: "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." I really didn't see anything in your post Audi that necessitated such an angry response. We're all just sharing opinions here. My ideal set list: He plays Ram in its entirety and then McCartney II. Now THAT would be awesome.
Thanks.

My passion for Paul McCartney's newer songs is a testament of my devotion, and I think it shows him the ultimate respect. It somewhat offends me that other fans have virtually zero interest in anything he's done in the last twenty years. Still, this is a problem for a lot of longtime acts who continue to tour: "How do I keep on pleasing those who want only the staples while letting the rest of the world know that I'm still musically relevant?" I'm sure Madonna ponders this, as do U2, Sting, Prince, the Stones and all the other legends who still record and release new music.

Mick Jagger did "10 Things I Learned About Rock and Roll" and number 10 was "No one wants to hear anything from your new album."

Jesus what is up with y'all lately? Paul can play whatever he wants to play. Let him be. I thought fans don't complain.... Quit your bitching.
No kidding he can play whatever he wants and I can hope/wish he would do more songs from his solo career. I don't call that "bitchin", it is just my opinion.
The unwritten rule has always been that informed fans are the ones most qualified and justified to do any bitchin'. I recall Chris Rock's appearance on Howard Stern, and he makes this very same point: (skip to 26:55)

That's because Keith's solo albums are ten times better than Mick's solo albums. If The Stones ever decided to perform Keith's "Wicked As It Seems," I would not complain at all.

that's absolutely right. For further steps into the right direction we could show on the concerts our pleasure about new wings/solo additions. several Posters like "more solo and wings songs!" should be a nice transmission.

If Paul's newer albums were mediocre, my opinion would possibly be different. But it's not my fault that Paul's Chaos/MAF/EA one-two-three punch raised the bar!

If I had my way, Paul would play 12 Beatle songs, 12 Wings songs, and 12 solo songs, of which 5 would be recent ones.

a great wish for persons who like the complete work! I can't imagine that come true, unfortunatelly. A 50:50 balance between beatles and solo/wings would be more realistic. That means too change of 5 Songs. Only 5 Songs from the new coming album (droping 5 Beatles songs: like All my loving, Back in the USSR...) and we get it

50-50 would be cool. In 1989 he played about 16 Beatle songs. Now he does about 24.

1993 tour had also a better mix. After more than 10 years beatles heavy paul could really get back to well-balanced setlist of theearly 90's.

1979 tour had 4 Beatles songs, I believe.

I have seen Sting several times (due to my wife is a major fan) and songs from "The Police" are in the minority of his set list. I hate to say this but I don't think McCartneyhas much interest in his solo work after it has been recorded. He might play a few songs while they are his current release but after that they go away forever with very few exceptions.

that's an interessting importance. Following this we have to be delighted that we got hi hi hi, hope of deliverance, LTWTMS and another day back. IMO large share of it carries rusty, abem brian and wix. Surely paul still forgot a lot's jewels thru the years and mainly remembers more beatles stuff.
