Wow! I hope will surface soon a youtube video about "Dress me up as a robber" rendition!
Me too, that would be awesome !!
-
"Robber" sounds very cool, the original track Wonder if they could recreate that level of coolness that night, on that song?
-
London to a brick it sounds terrible.
-
What does that mean, moptops?

I'm afraid there will be no way he will substitute a BEATLES track with 'just' a solo song... It's probably going to be... 'Junior's Farm' out, 'Save Us' in. Or even worse, a brand new Wings addition from this year, just my luck :').
I wouldn't be too quick to settle into that mentality. Do you remember what had that slot before "All My Loving"?..."Only Mama Knows"...
Ratio stayed the same though, 13 solo songs, rest Beatles...

From the NME article:
You've written so many songs. Listening to something rare but great like 'Goodbye', which you gave to Mary Hopkin in 1969, I wonder if you ever forget some of your less well-known material even exists? Yeah, there are [some songs]. There's a huge period in the '70s - I couldn't tell you what was on the albums then.
We figured that.

So maybe if he dug them out & listened to them, they would be NEW to him again!

Oh, boy... http://www.nme.com/news/paul-mccartney/73029 "There's a huge period in the '70s - I couldn't tell you what was on the albums then," says McCartney. "It was a bit befuzzled. It was after the end of The Beatles and I was a bit like, 'Oh God, where are we gonna go now?' Trying to get Wings together. There are some tracks there. I've seen tracklistings and thought, 'I wonder what that one's like?'"
-
Well, that's one explanation for the numerous non-Wings-related tracks on Wingspan.

Or McCartney introducing "Too Many People" in concert by saying this is for the Wings fans - lol
-
RAM was a proto-Wings album. He had other musicians play on it, it wasn't a solo album in the spirit of, say, McCARTNEY. To me, it's no big deal he introduced Too Many People as a Wings tune. The same drummer on RAM became the first drummer for Wings, so it was the seeds of Wings being planted. WINGS OVER AMERICA had Maybe I'm Amazed, the biggest hit off that LP and nobody complained that it wasn't a "WINGS" song. At this point it really doesn't matter. McCartney seems to be promoting NEW through a lot of media channels as opposed to the traditional - put out an LP then tour to promote it - route. He plays Junior's Farm live. He plays 1985. He plays Listen to What the Man Said. Really, how much more of Wings can he promote or pay homage too? They were cool, but not nearly as influential or remembered or even respected like the Beatles are.
-
Bono of U2 said in "Rolling Stone" mag that Wings "was the greatest band of the 70's"

I've got a posse formed!
Didn't get to see this, is there a link yet? Did he do it with Be What you See! I have to hear it now Paul is really letting loose... loving all the stuff that's going on now!! It's like the NEW dessert tray was left at your table and we're slowly getting to taste one and then another and another! You can't decide which one's the best... each one is a delightful treasure and becomes your favorite one at that moment!! Then you taste the next one and, well that's your New favorite one

He may be realizing his age. I was watching him rehearse with Dave Grohl & then Springsteen. He seems to want to do it all right now. oh & the Bloody Beetroots. Then all the different producers on this album. So much excitement for him & those he is working with. (I love dessert trays!)

My predictions: -Eight Days A Week is gone. Most versions weren't that good. The best rendition was Barclays Center on June 8th. MMT will replace (unfortunately) -Either LTWTMS or Juniors Farm is out in favor of Save Us being in the opening salvo. -Everybody Out There will probably replace IJSAF, which I'm fine with. -New will replace Your Mother Should Know. Hes playing Lady Madonna a lot and it's either he's playing it for these final times or he's really enjoying it and it will stay. -I think we'll get Queenie Eye replacing Mr. Kite or another late-set song. -After that, i think the same ending... Hopefully he'll keep Hi Hi Hi... It really rocks! Thoughts?
-
...I hope it stays the same until at least a fair share of fans can enjoy all these new additions! -_-
-
He should drop LET ME ROLL IT, OBLA DI OBLA DA, MY VALENTINE, 1985 and ANOTHER DAY and replace them with NEW songs.
-
I hope he doesnt replace 1985 it is a great piano rocker. Really gets the crowd into it. I would repleace Obla di, mrs vanderbilt, Another day, and My valentine.
-
I don't think ObLaDi is going anywhere, it's a good sing-a-long *Beatles* song that most audiences know. My Valentine is for Nancy, remember, so unless he has another song from New that he'd rather play for her, I bet that one stays, too.
-
If he chooses to take a few new additions out I hope its all together now and mr. Kite. He needs to leave hi hi hi lwtms and eight days a week.
