Here is Springsteen in 1995 acoustic:
Paul should try this!I remember the 60 Minutes profile on Springsteen during this tour. At the time, I didn't see a need for McCartney to do something this radical -- but, Lordy, is it ever time now.
However, I will add that the extended acoustic sets of McCartney's '02/'03 tours were absolutely inspired by seeing Colin Hay in an intimate concert sometime during the Driving Rain era. So maybe this type of show isn't so far removed from Macca's radar after all. Anyway, this is awesome: Colin Hay - Overkill [live @ Ramshead Tavern, Annapolis 2007]:

Paul did acoustic sets with the band in 1976 and in 1993. I think those are cool too.

True, but the Driving US tour featured a rather lengthy set of Macca -- alone and acoustic -- which was positively inspired by Colin Hay.

Nice. Thanks I enjoyed that.

I think it would be interesting if he tried something else. He is perhaps 72, but he's in good shape. I remember when Ry Cooder's Buena Vista Social Club came out in the 90s, with all the Cuban musicians and one of the oldest, I think the singer Compay Segundo was like 92 or something. So as long as nothing goes wrong and McCartney just have to play, he has perhaps twenty years left of his music career or even more.. who knows.
-
One of my dreams is for McCartney to play one of the EDM festivals ... ... as The Fireman.

Endless possibilities.

Please. The 95 Spingsteen tour was a BORE! I want a rock show from Sir Paul. Just like what he is doing now! Even during the great Wings Over America tour, (which I attended four times), half the audience went to get a beer during the acoustic set.
-
The point is that Springsteen's folk-tour didn't hinder his ability to continue putting asses in the seats on his next arena tour. All we're asking for is a one-time artistic challenge from Paul McCartney, but if "Ooh, I need your love, babe" is enough for you, then so be it. "If you're coming to my show to get drunk -- don't come! I don't want you there." -John Mellencamp, 2014

Nope. I saw Springsteen in 1995, the audience loved it. I saw Wings in 1976 the arena LOVED the acoustic set. You're wrong. Totally.

That's just nonsense. The audience at the show I attended (San Diego) was mesmerized, and went absolutely berserk when he did Yesterday and Blackbird. NO ONE got up during the acoustic set.

Yeah, I agree. It was fantastic!

With that said: "Picasso's Last Words" would be my beer-run/bathroom break.

That seems plausible to me: People may have sneaked out during this and "Richard Cory" and got back in time for the end of "Bluebird."
-
I like "Richard Cory," but if I had to miss a few seconds of it to get a fresh beer and shake the dew off my lily, it'd be worth it.

I am happy we don't use the toilet or drink during concerts in South America lol

While I hardly ever leave a concert for the bathroom (and I don't drink), I think the fact that we have actual secured seated locations in our venues instead of total general admission plays a much larger role in that decision than whether one actually has to go or not.
