Set List critique

Bruce, I think many of us think of About You as a missed opportunity live song, that it would have been reasonable to expect to be played live, especially as it coincided with his return to touring. I'd also prefer other songs done live over About You, but we had a realistic and probable chance he might have done it live at least once. It was a gritty little rocker on Driving Rain that would have translated wonderfully to the stage had it been fleshed out by the band. But no..1 2 3 4 5...and Your Loving Bloody Flame.

Bruce M.:
I've never understood why people get so excited about "About You." It's okay, but I can think of at least a dozen never- or rarely-played McCartney rockers I'd rather hear.
Really, name a few. I would not mind hearing songs like "Soily" and "Beware My Love" but "About You" is more recent and better than other songs he did from DR live.

I actually much prefer both of those songs to About You, and both went over quite well live. And to answer the question about Paul rockers (and a couple semi-rockers) I'd rather hear live: That Was Me The World Tonight Run Devil Run What It Is Nod Your Head So Glad to See You Here Helen Wheels The Mess Lonely Road (yeah, he did it in 2002 but it's been in mothballs since) I've Had Enough Getting Closer Beware My Love That's just off the top of my head

I'll be happy with Girls School too... but I'd be much happier with So Glad to See You Here ( a great opening song to a concert), I've Had Enough, Getting Closer, Helen Wheels, Old Siam Sir..... and Smile Away... but he's not going to do them. Unfortunately.

And it's a thumbs aloft from me!

So Glad To See You Here is OK. I never saw it as a legit song as much as just a riff to play with all those legends in one place. Would it hold up in a five piece band? I am not so sure. EDIT: I went and listened to it and it is better than I remember. Still, not sure Paul could sing those verses. They are HIGH all the way through.

With the re-release of Tug of War scheduled here's hoping for Ballroom Dancing and/or Take It Away and Tug of War in the near future

No way he could sing that now. Absolutely no way.

I think "Silly Love Songs" and "Martha My Dear" might show up in the next tour.

Ask McCartney - it's obvious HE has!

It seems Paul pretty much prefers to forget that the last two Wings albums ever happened. Rather sad, as both have a number of strong tracks that I'd love to hear live. But I am not making bets on ever hearing any of them.

There is hope buddy boy. Consider this: Since 1976 until 2010, he had NEVER performed ANY track in concert from Venus and Mars!
