A regular problem for rock legends who have their asses kissed 'round the clock and are surrounded by sycophants who wouldn't dare keep it real with the boss.
Bingo! This man wins a cupie doll.
I have no idea what a cupie doll is, but I'll gladly accept one.
A doll on a stick. Google it up man!

I did earlier. Kinda' creepy, those things.

Keep dreaming! I really enjoyed the show & the setlist at Fresno! (So as everybody at the show.)
MACCATTACK:
Dont' hate me, I love the man, but the setlist is a bit of a snoozer. I dont know why he has these rules it seems where he wont change things up a bit. Maybe I'm in the minority but I dont like the NEW album with the exception of a couple of songs. Definitely his weakest output IMHO since Off the Ground. But I understand he needs to promote it. Here's what I'd like to see: Eight Days a Week -Doesnt sound right without John. I Saw Her Standing There would be a perfect opener Save Us -Awful, but it aint going anywhere. All My Loving -Beaten to death, but acceptable Listen to What the Man Said -ZZZZZZZ- replace with Silly Love Songs Let Me Roll It/Foxy Lady -Needs to go bye bye. How about the forgotten Cant Buy Me Love?!?!? Paperback Writer -Adios. Bring back Jet My Valentine -ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ- Anything but thos Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five -KEEP! The Long And Winding Road -ZZZZZZZZZZZZ- How about C'moon or Let em In, even. Maybe I'm Amazed -He's had trouble with this since 89. How about Hold Me Tight?? I've Just Seen a Face -Ok, but I'd prefer Hop of Deliverance We Can Work It Out-Ok Another Day -OK And I Love Her -Meh. How about Mother Natures son or Rocky Racoon Blackbird -Keep Here Today -Adios! NO MORE TRIBUTES! Put It There would be great! New -Keep Queenie Eye -Not my fave, but it aint going anywhere Lady Madonna -C ya. You Never Give ME Your $$ would be better All Together Now -Sayonara- Bring back Getting Better Lovely Rita --Fair at best Everybody Out There -Keep Eleanor Rigby -Time to dump it. Ever Present Past shoud take its spot! One After 909 -Nope. Two of US would be better Something -Sorry Georgie, but its gotta go. Replace with Follow Me Obladi Oblada -OK Band on the Run -OK Back in the U.S.S.R. -OK Let It Be -OK Live and Let Die -OK Hey Jude -duh Day Tripper. -OK Hi Hi Hi -OK -two girls on stage- Get Back -NO!! Throw a curve and stick in Lonely Road from the UNDERappreciated Driving Rain Yesterday. -OK Helter Skelter -Doesnt sound good live. Bring back Pepper Golden/Carry/The End-Cool What do you think. It would still be a VERY hit friendly show! Oh yeah, replace Mr Kite with Penny Lane.

It's like he's singing with one lung. There is no power in his voice. It's been croaky or wobbly before sometimes but not like this. It's weak, and sometimes feeble. Interestingly the press reviews have made no issue of it. Not yet.
Yes, the press did make a small issue/comment about his voice. I posted it in another thread. (think Portland). I also checked the Seattle Times review and they mentions his voice not being that great anymore.

...to say the least.

One of my best friends and I are teasing a mutual friend for actually thinking that there will be a difference between the Cleveland and Cincinnati setlists.

Is that friend delusional - lol, just teasing

Interview with Brian http://www.examiner.com/article/one-on-one-with-guitarist-brian-ray Says he'd love to play Rocky Raccoon, Martha My Dear and The Back Seat of My Car. Also mentioned Devil in Her Heart as an early Beatles track he's like to do. I always thought What You're Doing would work great live - and it's written/sang by Paul!

Actually, the answer is yes. He texted me that -- and I am NOT making this up -- he wouldn't care if Macca sang "Hey Jude" 40 times for the whole show. My buddy (who's also a hardcore solo-McCartney enthusiast but doesn't participate in this forum) and I are beside ourselves with disappointment.

I think Brian makes it very clear that while the band members have favorites and certainly make suggestions that could go a long way in rehearsal, it is ultimately up to Paul as to what actually hits the stage.

That goes without saying.

Or maybe he's just a 74 year old man singing the songs he wrote when he was 25. Like it or not, he'll never ever sound as good as the year before (nor will any of us) so shall he be touring next year .. we'll be looking back to how great he sang in 2016 He's just human, isnt' he?

People need to get off this age nonsense. It's about taking care of your voice.

We'll see tonight if it's just a cold. Or just how it is now.

I think it is a bit of both. It is just natural for a singing voice to not be as strong and powerful in your 70's as it is when you are in your 30's. You can still sound pretty good in your later years but that is where taking care of your voice comes in. Every vocal coach will tell you how necessary it is to keep hydrated the day of the performance and he does not seem to drink at all during 2 1/2 hr show. Who knows how much damage was done by all the pot smoking for years. I know fans love his long shows and I give him credit for trying to give everyone a bang for their buck. That being said, he should have probably cut his concerts down to 2 hrs at most 10-15 years ago. Also, his sound check is way too long and that is due to him charging people big time money for it. He does not need the money, should have cut his sound check down to 4-5 songs and save the voice.

Daryl Hall last year -- almost 70:
Sammy Hagar this year -- again, almost 70: -
So I hear that Elvis Costello was in the Vancouver audience last night. If that's true, one Macca collaborator joined Macca on stage last night, while the other just watched the show.

It's true that Elvis Costello was in the audience. A friend of mine who went to the show was sitting a couple of rows away from him, and got to meet him and Diana Krall briefly.

Would rather have heard "My Brave Face" than "My Valentine" - lol !!
