I ain't namin' names, but some of y'all need to quit dissin' "My Valentine." Solid song.
Yes! It's one of Paul's best recent compositions. I don't get the dislike for it, and I'm glad he's still performing it.
-
It's a good song. Just too subtle for an arena show. IMO. I wouldn't mind hearing him do it in a cigar filled bar in Manhattan! But while he still can, I'd rather hear Oh Darling!

I don't care. I'm never going to hear it live. If I do, I will go buy a beer!

I've seen McCartney for the first time in 2010, being a Beatles fan mostly. And YES, I totally agree that he should play much more from his solo work. I've heard for the first time "1985" (Wings song, yes, but still) in that concert, and it was totally awesome for me. Since that concert I've been listening to all his post-beatles work, and it's just fantastic. A concert should be the perfect place for him to introduce new fans like me (started listening to Beatles thanks to the 2009 remasters) to some songs that may not be a huge hit but still I can't believe how can anyone not fall in love with a song like Somedays or Put It There / Rough Ride when listening live for the first time. These are the songs that Paul played when I saw him for the first time from his wings and solo work: Venus and Mars / Rock Show, Jet, LETTING GO (it was a blast), Highway, Let me roll it, 1985, Let 'Em In, My Love,Dance Tonight, Mrs Vandebilt, Sing The Changes, BOTR, Live and Let Die.

Thank you very much for that.

We need more people like you in the audience....actually a Stadium full of Good to hear from somebody like you who got introduced to Paul's music as late as 2009 and yet likes the Wings/solo stuff. By the way you were very lucky to catch the tour opening with V&M and featuring Vandebilt, 1985 and Letting go

Something else we agree on Audi!

Actually, it's not a bad song. I just prefer My Love in every way, it's more McCartney-ish!
-
I think "My Love" and "My Valentine" are of the same musical stew.
-
And what was written for #2?
joking... -
Takes on a new meaning, for sure. But the anger REALLY comes through in "Not Too Much Just Outta Sight."

I actually disagree. "My Love" is pretty much a straight-ahead Paul love song. "My Valentine" is more complex musically and emotionally, with a bittersweet quality as it shifts back and forth from major to minor. I consider "My Valentine" to be the far superior of the two.

Also, My Love sounds like it was written around 1973 by Paul McCartney. My Valentine sounds like it was written around 1933 by Cole Porter. But yeah, it's a cool song.

"My Valentine" has elements of both eras.
