Hi. What do we think about Paul reforming Wings for a farewell tour, before its too late, and only playing Wings songs, and his Beatles songs. Obviously it wouldn't be the Wings we new and loved, but I think it's an idea the fans might love. The line up could be Paul, Denny Laine Lawrence Juber, Steve Holly and Wix Wickens. Other former Wings members could pop in and out. Jeff Britton is still alive, as is Joe English. What do we think.

      Q. Why do hairdressers get to their destination before everybody else.
      A. They know short cuts.

As cool as that would be, I don’t see it ever happening. ☹️
And just an fyi, it’s Laurence Juber, Steve Holley and Geoff Britton . 😉

It would have been nice. But you forgot one very important member.
Linda, his wife. I think if Mr. McCartney reforms Wings for one last time, it might stir up a lot of painful memories in him. I think so.

@littlewillow I didn't forget Linda ( that's why I said "it wouldn't be the Wings we all know and love" ) I honestly think he hasn't thought of the reunion idea. And it's not like he hasn't played live with a band since she died. Plus Wix Whickens played with Paul and Linda live on stage, long after Wings disbanded (1980) Anyhoo, now my idea is out in this Forum, maybe the great man will see it, or somebody will tell him. I know Denny Laine would love to play with Paul again. If there was a Wings reunion it would be the biggest story ( though not as big as a Beatles reunion) in pop music for many a year. And the reunion COULD be achieved. Sadly a Beatles reunion. No.

@wandy Just my opinion, but I never had the desire to see a Wings reunion. I would have rather seen him do small tour many years ago with the RDR (Run Devil Run) band which including the legendary David Gilmour on electric guitar and Ian Paice on drums.

@yankeefan2 I thought the RDR album was good, but I prefer his Rock n Roll album from around 1989. I belive he made it primarily for the Russian Market, but eventually released it everywhere. I also seem to remember getting a free copy because I was a member of the Paul McCartney Fun Club. Originally the Wings Fun Club.

For the same reason that the Beatles never re-united, Paul would never re-unite Wings.

@drivinfan Interesting comment. I do think the Beatles would have reformed. Obviously it wouldn't be the same as before. Would we, they, want it the same as before. Fans constantly screaming through every show. I know I wouldn't. But I think JPG & Ringo would have done something together, maybe Live Aid. Or maybe Live 8. Pink Floyd reformed for Live 8, so why not the Beatles. The Stones get together every 5 or 6 years. New album, a new tour, so why not the Beatles. I don't think Paul had the same feelings about Wings as he did about the Beatles. Paul loved the Beatles. Broke his ❤️ when they split. I don't think he loved Wings.

Fans didn’t constantly scream through Paul’s Wings shows and I don’t think they would have if the Beatles got back together. We had all gotten older and were beyond the “teeny-bopper” screaming phase. I think the audience would have screamed and yelled when they first came out, but then only between songs.
                                Sadly, we’ll never know. 😢

@njr I saw Wings in 1976. Wings Over Wembley, London. My first ever rock concert. I was 21. A year later I saw ELO at the same venue. Both shows were fantastic!

Paul's current band is at least as good as any incarnation of Wings ever was, so ... no.
