What do we think of Paul's album called, Kisses On The Bottom. I never bought it, I don't think his style of voice ( I'm NOT talking about his aging voice now) is suited for this style of song. Paul is a rocker. He's not Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennet. Yes, he does write ballads, but these are McCartney style ballads. They are modern ballads. My Love, Baby's Request, Honey Pie, for example. So who owns this album, what do we think of this album. Over to yall.

@wandy I own it, but have only listened to it a couple of times. I think it suits his voice just fine. I loved the live video they did of him singing the songs on it! (I mean he sang live!)

It's a good album. This sort of music isn't usually my cup of tea, but it suits Paul's voice just fine. And you could drop any number of Paul's love songs onto a Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra album and they'd fit just fine. He's never been just a rocker. Indeed, two of the songs cited by the OP, Baby's Request and Honey Pie, are conscious imitations of pre-rock 'n' roll musical styles.

@wandy His two contributions fit in very nicely....perfect for the type of songs he included....but perfect because he can write any type of music. "My Valentine" is an excellent song....as is "Only Our Hearts." The production was top notch and Diana Krall on the album??? You can't get much better. Paul knew who to surround himself with. I even liked "Inch Worm"...which I had never heard of before. Catchy little tune.

You must be a young thing if you’ve never heard “Inch Worm!” 😂

I like the album. If you are going to get it, you need the complete version with double the amount of songs. (31 instead of 14) He sounds great on it, probably because he sings the songs lower.
It is hard to rank since you can really only compare it to CHOBA B CCCP.

Also is the version of baby's request on it a new recording of it?

I personally only have Baby's Request on the, Back To The Egg CD. Good song. Good album, and one of my fave album covers, too.

                    Yes. Read this:

“The deluxe version of the album includes two additional tracks (including "Baby's Request", a rerecording of a Wings song from the Back to the Egg album), a download code for access to an exclusive live show available from McCartney's website a week after the album's release, and longer liner notes and expanded album packaging, including three postcards. The US deluxe edition of the CD is 16 tracks which is available exclusively through Target stores.”

I see, I couldn't remember if Baby's Request was re-recorded. I thought the deluxe version was this with 31 songs. (see above picture of it on spotify)

Well, I would like to be a "young thing," but alas, I'm slightly past that 👦 , just one not fully aware of all music genres and/or all the songs within. The standards would be one of those genres. I guess. The other songs Paul chose to interpret? Yes. Just not the catchy little "Inch Worm." 😊 😕 😵 😖
