The Beatles Picture Thread

LOL a BeaTles Fountain! Cool! I never saw this one.
I almost bought a Tom Murray photo of Paul spitting water like this photo. I got the one in the hollyhocks instead. This was pretty cool!

From Ringo's instagram - The Beatles and Brian Epstein with Prince Philip - perhaps taken after a Variety Club performance? (date unknown)
The Beatles had received the Carl - Alan Award on 24th March 1964 at the Empire Ballroom, Leicester Square, London. There is a famous photograph of George dancing with his mum at the same event.

Thanks so much, Kestrel! Appreciate the information. Is this the same photo of George and his mum that you were thinking of? (It might have been taken at the Hard Day's Night premiere).

That's the one. Your right, it does seem to be the AHDN premier. I think I got muddled because George was wearing the same suit !!

Yes, he and Paul were both wearing the same suit at that premiere and I think (because they're both tastefully frugal) they could have worn the same suit jackets several times. This is a photo of Paul and Auntie Jin (spelling?) at that premiere, but the Beatles could have also danced with their mums/aunties (possibly wearing the same jackets!) at the Carl-Alan award you mentioned previously, in March, 1964.

^ Pretty sure the "dancing with mums and aunties" (Gin for Virginia, btw) was the AHDN premiere party. Paul is wearing the same jacket he wore to the Eight Days A Week premiere in 2016.

Thanks, Nancy! It was easy to recognize Paul's jacket since we remember seeing him wear it again in 2016.
Found a video from the event Kestrel mentioned above, the Carl Alan awards, in March 1964 - the awards were given by Prince Philip, so it is the correct event in previously posted photo in this thread of Prince Philip with the Beatles. The dancing with mums photos were from the HDN premiere.

^ I don't know who took that photo. There were a LOT of photographers there.
I saw that Beatles meme on Ringo's Twitter. They all got their fair share, but I agree, Paul would have won that "contest!" I actually think George was a close second!
Someone told me once that George's house was so big, he had women stashed in an unused wing of the house! Does that sound about right?
Here's the house where George stashed the women!

There's a L0T of space there The house has an interesting history. This link says George purchased it in 1970. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friar_Park If he did stash women there, it's kind of ironic that nuns lived on the property before he bought it.
Don't want to pass judgment on George, but somehow that makes me sad if it was true that he'd hide women there while his wife Pattie was living in the house at the same time... but maybe it was at a time when they were living apart or she was away...
Paul had a lot of fans "hanging out" and staying at his home in London during the Francie Schwartz time period, when girlfriend Jane Asher was away.... but that was before he got together with Linda, and he never hid anyone... there probably wouldn't have been any room to, anyway his London home was much smaller, and not a huge country estate on a lot of acreage like George had.

Nancy, thanks for posting the Eight Days a Week premiere photo. It's great Paul kept his original HDN premiere jacket. 0f couse we've seen he's kept other clothes (like his cowboy shirt) for many years. But it's good he's sentimental about remembering important events in his life and doesn't throw things out.
Was wondering if the Beatles all wore the same suits/jackets to the HDN premiere in 1964... looks like George and Paul's jackets at least are very similar. Seems like something Brian Epstein would have suggested.

Paul's was unique - the others were different, more traditional tuxedo jackets. George's did button higher than, for example, John's.

Happy Anniversary to Ringo & Barbara! The longest married Beatle couple. If Linda hadn't died, I'm sure she and Paul would still be married today, so that would be 52 years!!

I actually wasn't late. Ringo posted that pic on Twitter a bit earlier in the morning of the 27th, which is the day they were married! Some idiot Tweeted "Where's John?"
(and I agree about Paul & Linda!)
