You might think this is from the same photoshoot as June 3, 1964 that I posted earlier, but it's not. Note John's trousers are not solid black like the other. This photoshoot was apparently done in July, 1964.

Ah, now this is a very interesting photograph/session which no one (I believe) has been able to precisely date.
It was taken in their Apple studio during February 1969. Paul had just shaved off his bushy beard following the last day of filming on the Let It Be project on 31st January 1969. So, you are right, its early Abbey Road era but what they were rehearsing/recording isn't clear. They were only at Apple on 5 February and that was for a mixing session. Then they were recording I Want You (She's So Heavy) on the 22 and 23 (24 they were tape copying) February but all this work was done at Trident studios and not Apple !!
