There are so many Solo songs that I wish Paul would play...some that he has never played before. Since he did Temporary Secretary earlier this year, why doesn't Paul and Band do: Ever Present Past Reasons: #1...It is a great song #2...I think that Paul could sing it well #3...Love the lyrics #4...Much better song than Temporary Secretary
The single was a modest success in the U.S., reaching #16 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and getting at least a bit of radio play. Chances are more people in the audience would recognize it than would recognize Temporary Secretary (though there would still be plenty of blank stares, alas).
"Ever Present Past" hit the Top 20 on several charts back in '07. I remember. And, again, I found myself wondering why we never got a live performance or, at least, a television performance of it to take the single over the top.
-
I'm wondering what song he will open the next tour concerts with. Probably a Beatles hit single like Ticket To Ride, but it would be cool if he chose a Wings song. It would have to be something with a powerful riff. How about "Soily"? "People, gather here tonight. I want you to listen to me!"

For me, not a great enough song. Another of those songs that should be number five on an album and it does its job well.... but should never have been the new song out of the box to announce the new album..... I felt the same way about Press.... although I think Press is much better than Ever Present Past....
-
Nothing that makes Ever Present Past particularly memorable. One of many songs that are meh. Happy with the other songs he chose to do live in 07, from the album.
-
If the next remaster really is Flowers In The Dirt, I hope he will enjoy listening to the album so much that he will decide to do My Brave Face live.

"Soily" is great for opening an encore, "Rockestra Theme" and "So Glad to See You Here" in a medley would be great to open an concert!

(Tell us how you really feel Robert!)

Maybe "Looking for Changes" and "Big Barn Bed" (on ukulele) as well!

Again, he can stick his uke. BUT, if Paul and the band played a faithful full band rendition of Big Barn Bed, I'm heading to the airport!
-
Can anybody confirm the band played Looking For Changes at a recent soundcheck? If so, how did it sound?

The perfect opener is "So glad to see you here" No way!

If he opened with that now he'd have NO voice by song 5.

LOVE the song but I don't think he could handle it now.

Good lyrics too. Someone roll your blind, someone turn your mind Someone lift your eyes up and lean in toward the light ...evocative, as they say...

He really does have some great songs that we, sadly, will never hear him sing live.
-
True, sadly. But I look at it this way... If you told me after his 02 Driving tour ended ALL the titles he HAS sung live through the years, frankly I would have called bulltish.
-
Somehere around 2007/8 a buddy and I proposed our dream setlists, knowing the reality that songs we chose would be played live was practically zero. Upon revisiting those emails a couple of years ago, we found, at least I know I did that something like 10 or more titles that we wrote down had in fact been played live. Songs like Hi Hi Hi, Mrs Vandebilt, 1985, The Night Before, Daytripper, etc etc etc... I'm grateful for anything new these days.

...grateful for anything new - but thankful for what he's given us along the way.
