Bob Gannon:
Bruce Springsteen played I think 12 concerts in Austrailia and New Zealand and played over 100 different songs!!! And Bruce's songs are much longer and he can remember them all!!!
Australia, please Bob.

Bob Gannon:
If they were just to stay in the pool of songs that they have played since 2002 when they became a band, they would have over 125 choices of songs that they have learned and played before. And I'm sure I missed a few one off's. But the point is, even just staying within those songs..nightly changes could be plentiful
Agree entirely, I think most of us here do. I sometimes wonder about the band, and why one of them hasn't jumped ship. I suppose it's because of the extended periods of down time they have between slabs of touring. They all have time to do their own things... There is no reason why Let Me Roll It could not alternate with Letting Go, or Hi Hi Hi, with I've Had Enough. There's literally dozens of songs he could be swinging around to keep genuine interest, not only for us, but the band too. I think of Paul's age now and the last decade of tours. Whilst we're all deadset fortunate he's still going around, a part of me can't help but think there's also been a massive opportunity lost with regards to songs performed. As somebody suggested it's now like McCartney the Musical that rolls into town. Anyway I'm sure one of the mods will chastise me for not keeping this to a dedicated set list thread, so I'd better pull my head in...

Yup, no reason to not throw 'Please Please Me' or 'I'll Get You' in on a rare night in Europe or throw 'The Word' or 'She's A Woman' in for some US gigs. It would shake up so much. Hell, only 'Let Em In' suddenly in the piano set and 'Drive My Car' as encore in Antwerp more than 2 years ago now (last show I saw) already felt like a whole fresh set. Sometimes it's baffling how they go back to "square one" after having swapped around a fair bit in between years. You would say that in the short gap between the 2 most recent Dutch gigs in late 2009 and early 2012 it's for certain the additions from the tour in between like 'One After 909', 'I'm Looking Through You' and 'Letting Go' - the first 2 to this day never played over here, the latter not since 1976 - would have been added for the latter show, since the rest of the setlist was still so similar. None of it all. Even more so, from all the choices they could make, the set was back to the same old opener we got in 2003 (!), 'Hello, Goodbye', and at the place where 'I'm Looking Through You' was being rotated in and out we got... 'I've Just Seen A Face', just like in 2003. Now of course a setlist isn't a checklist, but it's still surprising since he definitely does consider rotation and swapping around based on territory since 2010.

"One After 909"?? WOW!!--another John song creeps into the setlist--love it!! I've been listening to "Let It Be Naked" all week and was thinking he should put a couple more of those little gems into his set!! Yay!--but between "Eleanor Rigby" and "Something"? That's a strange combination. Maybe he's doing "My song, John song , George song.." so why doesn't "Octopuses Garden" come next in the set list?? So excited that the tour has begun again!!
oh please no...not Octpuses Garden. Next he'd be doing Yellow Sub. He has sooo much more to offer.

If [Paul] takes this to Japan, and dishes out the same, well, he might as well stay home (where is that these days? Beverly Hills?) and phone it in.
After Hey Jude, you KNOW he's gonna come back and do Get Back. After that, you KNOW he's gonna do Yesterday and Helter. Enough already. Still love the guy. And, yes, he's a few months away from turning 72, but -- dangit -- I know he's capable of more than this.
It's become almost like Elvis' Hilton engagements from the 70's...hell and even Elvis had the plumbs to deliver some REQUEST SHOWS in 1975!!!
Wouldn't that be cool if he actually took requests? ehhh...he never could... he's just got too many songs for him to remember them all.

The show last night was fantastic. Same setlist as Japan but a guy at the front row was constantly yelling "One after 9!!!! One after 9!!!" and Paul joked about that between songs until he finally said "We will have to do it for this guy" and they did it! Paul was in fine voice though his voice hit the wrong notes here and there and Wix made a mistake during "New". Some nice arrangement during Helter Skelter, probably improvised, when during a chorus he would reply to the "Helter Skelter" line instead of sing it where it goes. I thought myself not to cry during this concert but this beautiful girl on the seat next to me was crying like a baby during "Amazed" and I had tears running down my face too. Off to Chile! Greetings, Jav

Sgt._Pepper:
I don't think "One After 909" will be a permanent addition though. The song was requested by some random guy in the front row, and moreover, the band rehearsed it last night.
Note to self: save up for front row seat and yell "Appreciate" loud enough to be heard. parlance

I'm right there with you!

"One After 909" was rehearsed. If you think Paul played it just because some random guy yelled for the request, you're kidding yourselves.

He did sound great vocally for the most part.

It always was a soundcheck staple though. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, the fan obviously knew to request a more exclusive song they were overly familiar with.

I'll grant that.

Luuk One After 909 - is not a set-list staple
