I was sorry to read that Ed Sheeran's bit got cut from the film...would have been nice to have a current musical artist included. Wonder who else got cut? https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/1806379/ed-sheeran-is-cut-from-the-new-ron-howard-movie-about-the-beatles/
I agree with Ringo
And the decision appears to have got the thumbs up from drummer RINGO STARR. He said on the cull: "When we saw the first cut there were a lot of other people doing a lot of talking, which I believe he's cut out now and it's mainly me and Paul talking and it's better."
I wish they would have cut more out.
Ha ha! I don't disagree...but since they did include some "talking heads" I question why they kept the ones they did. And I question some of the other bits I've read about being in the film. (I haven't seen it, yet.) I'll always go for more of the Beatles , please!
I loved the Whoopi Goldberg segment! For a non-rated film, they got away with an f-bomb!

I read Ringo slipped one in there somewhere, too? And, now that I've thought about it, I can understand why some people were cut from the film: it's about the touring years, so they must have gone with people who actually experienced those years! I'm very excited reading everything about this film, and looking forward to seeing it.

Can't remember if Ringo did or not! Anybody?
Yes he did.

[quote="Nancy R"]Can't remember if Ringo did or not! Anybody? One thing (glaring to me) was that this photo was printed in the movie backwards. This is the correct configuration I read it a couple of places, but it was also mentioned he said it in a "thicker-than- usual Scouse accent", so maybe it's easy to miss! (Or if the accent was that thick, maybe that isn't what he said at all, who knows?)

Bravo, Ron Howard! I had a very long weekend so I watched it on Hulu instead of going to the theater. I think I'll go see it again in a theater.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but did finally get my copy of the new Hollywood Bowl CD. Whenever possible, I still buy records the old fashioned way: Go to the San Francisco branch of Amoeba Records (great, great store) and buy it in person!

I've been to Amoeba Records in the bay area, I LOVE IT! I also miss Tower Records when there were stores all over California. I lived in Sacramento which is about 100 miles from San Francisco. Steve Perry, from Journey, used to travel to visit the main Watt Ave. store in Sacamento quite often. Check out the ALL THINGS MUST PASS documentary, its about the rise and fall of Tower Records.

Studios always want to put in whoever's popular right now to bring in the younger audiences, but this is The Beatles. They don't need to interview the flavor of the month to promote the biggest band of all time.

Went to see it today thought Eight Days A Week was amazing was great to see concert footage in colour eg The Washington Gig. Best bit of all was seeing the entire Shea Stadium concert after the film it sounded amazing. I was lucky enough to buy the last ticket for this afternoon being shown in a small cinema it Sold Out fast.
I agree. Loved it all!! But the highlight for me was the Shea Stadium footage at the end. For that alone, it is worth seeing it in a movie theatre, if you can. Shea has always been my favourite Beatle concert, so I am biased LOL but the sound of it was incredible. Especially John. I love John's voice so much, but him singing Dizzy Miss Lizzy was SO PERFECT!!

I also agree with Ringo. Having this history told in their own words means more to me than having somebody else weigh in on what it was like, especially from someone like Ed Sheeran who wasn't even there. I did like Whoopi's story, and there were a couple of others that made perfect sense (like the lady from Jacksonville) but the more Paul and Ringo (and pieces from John and George), the better, IMHO.

Looks like you had a great time Nancy!
I did! Met a fellow Beatle fan from Dalton, GA and I think I talked him into going to Abbey Road On The River next year! He had been to the Fest For Beatles Fans in Chicago a couple times.

What was he talking about when he said it?
Not sure, Nancy...it may have been about the bands trip to Hamburg.
