Oh wow, I just posted a shorter version of this(in higher quality) over at the Paul videos thread, I found it clicking links from the Let It Be Grammy Award clip. This one is great though. I never heard that Helter Skelter before - I guess it's a demo version? It's still totally recognizable even without the craziness. Paul's great in this, love what he says, that cute smile at 2:01 when he talks about "going to America and getting knighted"

Bad news...I found this nightmare ops:

Whoa! I had to turn that thing off. That was awful even as a comedic thing, I think. Poor Steve Martin, he really must have been struggling to do this. Then again I seem to be one of the few people who really likes Maxwell's Silver Hammer as a song - I just love how dark and twisted it is, while having this seemingly pleasant sing along melody. To me that's kind of the point. When I first heard it it cracked me up. I always thought it had a great "sound", especially that steam organ sounding thing(wow I am SO technical with these terms )

I like it too, it's hilarious! "I slaughtered a woman with a hammer" it's saying, while sweetly in the background we hear "do do doo dooo!" Hehehehee! Nobody but Paul McCartney can write this sort of stuff!!

Does anyone know of any videos from tv from when they broke up? I would like to see how the world reacted. If I had been alive, I had probably died. I've tried a youtube search, but no exacly results...

I would think that the only news reports of the Beatles demise happened after Paul released his 'after the fact' press release along with the release of his (then) new album, 'McCartney'....

It's been seen many times before but it's still one of the great Paul moments.....he's blasted.....totally hoovered......
This is just hilarious! Does anyone know anything about this "get together" and if it was just a spur of the moment?

I know right? And he also comments on the phenomenon of serial killers and mass murders with "fan clubs"(Rose and Valerie screaming from the gallery "Maxwell must go free!")

All videos on that subject makes me cry. Hadn't seen this one before myself, even though I had heard the holding-hands story. Yep, great thread, I bet there's much more to come.
