This is nerve-wracking. I just passed on Floor 7 row 5 seats because they just didn't seem close enough. VIP has spoiled me. I just wish they'd get on sale so I can move on -- without regret!

I had two tickets half-way up in section 9, and while looking to see if VIP was on sale, they removed them from my cart. Now in perpetual refresh

No e-mail yet for Brooklyn -- which is funny because I got all others for the cities in which I could not attend! Should I be worried?
This happened to me too. I got emails for other cities but nothing for Brooklyn. I hope I can get in on the presale
you can still register up until 6am, so you should do it again just to be sure. I registered two email addresses, just in case one doesn't work for some reason.
I've registered three, repeatedly. Very odd! (Though I may be doing VIP anyway....)

Has anyone who was at the Yankee Stadium shows and bought the VIP packages received their "exclusive merchandise" and laminate yet? Week after the show and nothing has arrived here yet...

I was able to get quite a few great shots from last night's show. Happy to share them here and hope you enjoy them. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150243578309480.324146.664394479&l=ab5a5a0f9b While I am using Facebook to share, no offense but I won't friend anyone I don't know!
BEAUTIFUL shots! Did you have a photo pass? If not, did they hassle you about having a DSLR camera?
I just walked in with it (after a week of fretting like crazy). About 350 shots in, some angry guy in a suit and an earpiece came over to me and told me to take the telephoto off, which was timely as artistically I hadn't taken many wide angles yet. With about 30 minutes to go, I put it back on. And kept it there. Regardless, the stage lights are so hot, it was tough to get shots -- exact opposite of any other show I've shot. It's got to be tough on Paul.

You know, I think this review nails it perfectly. Pareles, like many of us, obviously has a deep, deep knowledge of Paul and his catalog, but also understands what an entertainer has to do in settings like this. Quibbling about the set list here does miss all the most salient and pertinent points that Pareles makes. I'm active on other boards for artists with fanatic, loyal followings, ranging from Prince to Todd Rundgren. The people who see every show raise the same arguments that are being waged here. The people who see them for the first time, or sporadically, rave about how incredible the set lists are. It's all perspective, and those of use who see artists a gazillion times tend to, by definition, lack it.

John Pareles writting for the New York Times shows a knowledgeble viewpoint on Paul's performance: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/17/arts/music/paul-mccartney-yankee-stadium-concert-review.html# Martin

This was the ninth time I've seen Paul live, and the third time in the past three years, including Citi and Radio City. Sure, I would have liked a few more surprises, but at least there were 6-7 cuts that weren't in the last shows, so that's fine. And the performance overall was excellent, the pacing a little better than Citi. The Night Before and I Will with the full band were nice adds. Maybe I'm Amazed proved to be a real challenge and I wonder if it will stay in the set. But he pretty much nailed everything else. I went with two newbies, and of course they were blown away by the set -- and couldn't name a song they wanted to hear that they didn't (save an eventual Silly Love Songs) and, you know, when people pay $200 a piece, that's probably the right outcome.
