Just got home ! Paul was in a great mood ,the crowd was great . Small venue . Seems like he was later than usual for Soundcheck .We weren't allowed in at 6:30 because someone said sc took longer . Haven't heard if that was true or not. 4 fans got onstage . My good friend Terry got onstage . Great story ,C'mon Terry tell everyone !

I'm at the Courtyard. I didn't appreciate how close to the arena it is until I checked it out a few minutes ago. I'm on the lobby computer if anyone cares to stop by.
I think I'm really close too. Hope to meet you tomorrow !

I'm here, staying at the Amway Hotel. Where is everyone staying?
veggieburgher:
Is anyone else in town? I just met a very nice couple (Jimmy and Donna) from NYC at my hotel who will be seeing Paul solo for the first time. Jimmy saw the Beatles perform but hasn't seen Paul since except for meeting him in Manhattan once. He said he asked Paul what key he plays Blackbird in. Paul told him, "G." Jimmy had other great stories including his purchase of a Hofner bass and Vox amp at Manny's in 1963. This will be my 24th time but it is hard to beat the first.
I'll be at the Marriott

Saw a picture on FB of somebody with a sign wanting a hug for $5. Problem is the person has already been on stage twice. I was in Philadelphia last summer when the person got on stage. Paul did not seem happy about it being the 2nd time around. The person bragged about getting on stage twice. I hope the person does not get on stage. If Bruce is there or Billy Joel, nobody will get on stage. Having those guys on stage at sound check may be the end of fans on stage tonight.
Ugh ,I hope she doesn't get on stage again . So many of us want to meet him,we all deserve that chance . To some it seems like a contest of how many times they can get up there .

RE: I'm going to Liverpool!
Nancy R:
What day(s) will you be in Liverpool? My friend and I will be there Aug. 25-31 with Charles Rosenay's Magical History Tour (Liverpool Productions) and will also get to see inside Paul and John's boyhood homes. (My friend has never been, but I have) With the Fab Four taxi you'll get to see all the usual sites like Strawberry Fields (the gates are now recreations and the originals are stored somewhere), Penny Lane, Liverpool Institute and probably Quarrybank High, etc. In 2011 I saw one of those taxis stopped at Strawberry Fields ahead of us. In London you really need to see the Tower of London and the Jewel House, St. Paul's Cathedral, Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey and the British Museum. We bought a 3-day London Pass for $128 that pays for itself if you use it on enough locations 3 consecutive days. You can also buy a 6-day pass. You get to skip to the front of the queues as well! Go to www.visitbritainshop.com. You order the pass online and pick it up on Charing Cross Rd. in London. They also sell travel cards for the Underground and train transportation from the Heathrow airport to London Paddington (We will be in London Aug. 19-25) The London portion of Charles' tour starts on the 22nd. Have fun!
I went on Charles tour years ago .Im so tempted to go again !Beatles week in Liverpool is a must for Beatles fans at least once . Maybe next year or year after. The passes & travel cards are a must ! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's trips soon .

WixRocks!:
On that same note at the end there...the people that hold up their phone to film an entire song. I can't handle that. I'll gladly admit that I've got 140 photos from the concert last night.
whoops, WixRocks, I did that! ha! ops: but I am really short and my arm doesn't go that high, and I had a real small sony camera, not a big cell phone. AND I got some great, sharp close video which I will post here once I figure out how to get it on youtube -- so forgive me!! But, to beat all of the signs and the recorders, I had a girl right behind me who was doing an Indian war call whoop almost the whole concert. Even on the quieter songs like Eleanor Rigby, war whoops throughout the whole thing AND the guy with her actually was getting her to do it more so he could record it as a ringtone.... people can be so self-centered, it's hard to believe sometimes. I heard her during the soundcheck too although she wasn't right behind me then -- her whoops were almost louder than the band. If I wasn't a girl, I'd definitely be getting in some fisticuffs at these concerts!! Oh yeah, I have seen Ringo too, twice, his concerts are much more relaxed and just as much fun as Paul - just different. and I got first row seats on StubHub for about $100 each.
Was this in Cincinnati ? I know who you're talking about . Was she wearing a white dress? When she wasn't doing that awful sound ,she had her phone light on ,pointing it right at Paul . I was in 3rd row & we kept turning around to look at her,but she didn't care.I swear she nearly broke my eardrum during the Soundcheck I had a sign but only raised it when he was looking at them .

Wow , At the Cincy Soundcheck they made us open up our posters . Then security opened it all the way ,like they were checking at the size . But at the concert I saw some large signs , That's just wrong for everyone around .

It was an amazing night ! Paul & band were on fire . The crowd was having the time of their life , all ages ,I've never seen so many kids & all were having a blast ! & Ive never seen so many signs before either. Brian Riddle came out before the show with paper & pen & walked around writing down what the signs said .He said he would take the list backstage & show Paul . I'd never seen that before. I met a couple ladies at the Soundcheck who hadn't seen Paul in over 15 years. They wanted to see Paul again, but came on this board to see what was being said about the shows first. Some of the comments here almost made them think it wasn't worth the money to spend, After the SC ,they were jumping up & down with such excitement ,they couldn't believe they almost didn't go for it ! I'm starting to get my voice back now ,we woo hoo'd a lot ! & yes we sang along with every song One of the best Paul shows I have seen .

RE: Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors
Agreed ! BB King was great . Just because you have to sit because of health reasons doesn't mean you can't put on a great show !

Anyone here have the winning bid ?
Not Terry and I! We watched it to the bitter end though while on the phone! It got extended a couple of times (10 minutes each) to allow for last minute bidders!
I watched it & was wondering if you guys were in it ! Are you going to try for the other one ?
We have to first schedule our lobotomies. (Yeah, we're gonna watch it and see!)

Nancy R,you're going to base a decision on how many posts Terry has ? I have been here since 2002 also, (I had a problem with posting & the only answer was to start over with a new name) I usually only post when it's tour time ,because I hate the drama,I have a low number too.Terry is a wonderful person,if I could go with her I would! But I really don't want to spend $20,000 for a couple minutes & no autographs
That was only one of my concerns for goodness sake! And fyi, we are now FB friends and everything is cool. We have mutual friends. (and you wouldn't be spending $20,000, you'd be spending half--$10,000)
Sorry Nancy,I was only making a comment. Yes I understand it would be half . I wish I could do it . & fyi we have several mutual friends!! Good luck !!
