This picture below is not Paul. It's a photomontage with Paul's face stuck on an American kid's body. The actual photo of the American kid has surfaced over the years. Someone just post Paul's face on that body. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h101/macca09/PM%20Board/early_gal_18.jpg

RE: WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
I remember Geoff rubbishing the British audiences! I remember that write-up very well. I believe he did that in several articles which sort of bothered me. I've seen Paul live in the States many times and have also seen him in Britain once and Germany twice. I thought the European audiences were just as enthusiastic as American audiences. I've occasionally been in American audiences where they were total and complete duds. Not in the most recent '05 tour, but in the tours prior to that.

RE: WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
I agree completely. I also think IPODs, cell phones and all the rest has compromised life. It was better before all these things. With Paul, it's especially true. Anticipation is what whets the appetite and instant gratification never helped anyone.

RE: WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
Here was the format of Club Sandwich magazines, most of these are later issues. The earlier issues were larger and I think much better:

RE: WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
I was a member from almost the beginning until the club went defunct after Linda's passing. My biggest memory was getting the Club Sandwich magazines, which were (and remain) incredible! I still have each issue, lovingly preserved. Some of the photos in there were fabulous and rare. People who never grew up without the Internet can't imagine the thrill of getting these magazines. News on Macca was not an everyday occurence like it is today. There might be a reference to him in Time or Newsweek, or a TV show now and again, but that was it. These magazines were your connection to Paul's upcoming albums, singles and possible tours. The club would also send out foldable posters once in awhile, buttons and stickers. I think the most thrilling part was getting row 7 tickets to Paul's '89 tour just because I was a fan club member. That was the best dividend of all! I just remember walking home from school, anticipating the next Club Sandwich. They usually arrived mid-month and I would be obsessing over their arrival date for days in advance. Those magazines were thrilling to receive and lovingly pour over each page.

RE: Moving Pictures - a thread for YouTube clips of the Beatles!
Yup, Monday August 29, 1966 at Candlestick was their last-ever gig. They played for 33 minutes of 12 seconds (long for them). And the rooftop concert wasn't Abbey Road, but Apple. Great footage of that on Youtube as well!

RE: Is Paul gonna do Please Please me on his US Tour?
I can't imagine him ever doing Please Please Me, it's a John song completely.

RE: My imaginary set list....
Daytime Nightime Suffering would be a fantastic song for him to play. Linda said this was her favorite Paul song after Yesterday. Somehow I doubt he'll ever play it, partly because of the insipid lyrics in the middle eight, "No sand... no pail...," etc. But one of Paul's great, catchy tunes!

RE: She Loves You
I've always read it was 50/50 between John and Paul, a total collaboration, like I Want to Hold Your Hand. John said in his Playboy interview that She Loves You and I Want to Hold Your Hand were both 'eyeball to eyeball songs."
