Buddy Holly Poem
NOT FADE AWAY
February second, nineteen fifty-nine
Clear Lake Iowa, The Surf Ballroom
The Winter Dance Party Tour rocks
over eleven hundred concert goers
Price of admission, one dollar and twenty-five centsOh say can you hear in this musically charged dance hall
the pounding beat of drums coalesce
with stomping feet on a dance floorFebruary third
A single-engine plane soars from Mason City Airport
Destination Fargo, North Dakota
Moorhead Armory Building AuditoriumFive and one-half miles from take off a visually absent horizon begats a change in course
A stubble field shorn of its harvested corn stalks becomes the gateway to the Endless UnknownPrice of admission, termination of life for Buddy, Ritchie, and J.P.
Oh say can you feel by the moonless night
A dream's end
Lovers unspoken goodbyes
The world's despairThe music survives and the three early rockers fire up
the next evolution of the people's musicRave on

RE: McCartney 3?
I received a text from Paul! It's one dice (a die) with one dot on the top, four dots on one side, and 5 dots on the other. A friend of mine got one with one, two, and three dots! So exciting! Anyone else get these?

Alternate Sgt. Pepper LP
If The Beatles hadn't taken Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane off Sgt. Papper and used them for a single, where would the 2 songs have appeared on the album and what 2 songs would be left off?

RE: Paul McCartney, Elton John Set for Coronavirus Charity Special
I liked Paul's song. Very bluesy. Neat that it was in a casual setting.

RE: Paul Song with Reworked Lyrics for Covid
So glad you liked it!! Please feel free to add lyrics to this reworked song, or rework another Paul song! Beware My Love kind of catches my interest.

Paul Song with Reworked Lyrics for Covid
Here's a slightly changed version of Paul & Linda's Live and Let Die made into a song dedicated to frontline workers in the Covid-19 crisis.
When you were young and your heart was an open book
You used to say live and let live (You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But if this ever-changing world in which we live in makes you give in and cry
Say live and save lives (Live and save lives, live and save lives, live and save lives)
We know it matters to ya
When you got a job to do you're gonna do it well
You're gonna give coronavirus hell

RE: "That Day is Done" demo (Paul and Elvis C.)
Read an Elvis Costello interview about That Day Is Done. He said it was about his feelings about when his grandmother died.
It seems to me that the song switches point of view from the person experiencing the death of a loved one to that of the deceased person themselves.

[... No matter how you look at things, looks like an exciting year for Beatle's fans 1. George Harrison boxedvset 2. Flowers in the Dirt Archive Set 3. Record Store Day cassette 4. Sgt Pepper Anniversary release 5. Paul new album 6. Ringo new album 7. And Capitol's comprehensive plan for Paul's catalog starting July 31st. What that entails, we don't know yet Possible Paul touring and who knows maybe Ringo too So it's looking to be a busy year to come
And expensive!
Nothing but truth there!!!!
Yes expensive! I'll have to go with the 2 CD Special Edition this time!

RE: Detroit, MI - Joe Louis Arena - October 21, 2015 - ARCHIVE
#1PMFAN:
Once again, Paul did not disappoint! I encouraged a few friends to go and they said "best show ever"! Although I was sitting alone on main floor (first row of second section) you're never alone with Macca fans. I sat next to a 22 year old girl, Brittany, who drove alone from OH for her first Paul concert! I love seeing the excitement for Paul in young fans. Since the ticket price broke her, I couldn't let her leave without a T-shirt, so I bought her one! Got home at 1:30, alarm goes off at 4:30....not tired and ready to go! As for the signs, I was 3 rows behind d the 17 year old that eventually made it on stage. Happy for her, but the sign covered my view of the stage. She and her mom didn't care much about those behind them, but it's all good! As for security, I could not believe, with all those enormous signs they let in, I was told I could not bring in an album cover! I had the vinyl version of "Kisses On The Bottom", hoping to get it signed, but had to take it back to my car. I know Paul signs them, because I have 3 already. Aside from that...AWESOME SHOW!
Yes, awesome show! As for the signs, I think Paul should set aside time to have people hold signs up. I brought a sign but didn't hold it up every song. When I did hold it up it was in between songs (Paul wants to concentrate on the song, not signs) and didn't hold it up for real long (annoying for people behind me). That was so nice of you to buy that girl a t-shirt!

Like everyone around me I sang and screamed for most of the concert. After it was over I tried to talk but I had to push the words out 'cause I was so hoarse!

What a totally awesome show!! Hard to describe exactly, you just had to be there! All the songs were great, Paul's voice was great, the band was great. I loved every second. Hope he doesn't wait 4 years to come back again. Got to meet a few Maccaboard peeps! A lot of the food at the pre-show reception wasn't really my taste (too spicy or too bland. Fruit and vegetables great, sponge cake/fruit desert great, spring rolls awesome!) but it was so fun to meet people and relax. I think Paul and the band loved the Detroit audience.

Terrym2442:
What I'm trying to find out is: do we or do we not have to bring clear (vinyl/plastic) purses to the venue?
Two of us called Joe Louis (313-471-7000) and we were told that we do not have to have clear plastic/vinyl bags. Maybe you could try calling tomorrow and see if they give you the same answer.

Anyone know what time the parking lot opens on concert day? Also, someone mentioned outdoor parking- is that looking like a good option? I HATE parking garages!
I just called Joe Louis Arena (313-471-7000), the woman said the parking garage opens at 1:00 p.m. and the cost is $20.

Anyone going to the pre-show reception and sound check? We could have a Maccaboard table to meet up!

I haven't gotten my SC email (first time in 21 soundchecks, unless it went to spam) What time is check in please?
Here's what my email says for the Hot Sound Package: "Joe Lewis (they misspelled it!) Arena, Wednesday, October 21. Please proceed to the check-in table, located at the West Press entrance, on the Third Street/Yzerman Drive side of the arena, and look for the check-in signs. Check-in is from 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm."
Beat me to it ! Does anyone know where to park ? I'm concerned that it's Wed. afternoon, & all the people that work around there are probably in the parking structures.
I went yesterday to check it out. I came from the east, going I-94 West, then to MI-10 S/Lodge Fwy. S via Exit 215A (on the left), then take W. Jefferson Ave. Exit 1A. I stayed on the exit ramp that winds around to the right and very soon on the right I saw the Joe Louis parking garage which is attached to the arena. I was told parking would be $15 for Paul's concert. I found an outdoor parking spot for $20 close by: When you exit 1A, stay with the same street and turn left first chance you get (at a stop sign) and do a U-turn. Soon you'll get to Yzerman Dr. and turn right. The outdoor parking is right there and across the street it says West entrance for Joe Louis. It was a bit confusing at the time so I want to go another time before Wednesday.
