Whatever they gave me, worked wonders! I wanted to go out afterwrds to, but my mate (who hadn't moonwalked and whom I was giving a lift home to) wanted to head straight home afterwards : Next time, I'm taking the week off for all the highs and lows that go with it

Aw shucks, thanks. If your family need some assistance in finding out about following a more nutritious vegetarian diet, the vegetarian society are always willing to offer helpful advice.

As someone who is not a millionaire or benefitting from access to a personal chef, I can honestly say that a vegetarian diet is no more demanding to cook for than a meat diet. Does it take longer to cook a chicken stir fry or a vegetable one? Does a vegetable lasagne take longer to cook than one containing meat? Do you need to be a millionaire to make a fruit salad for dessert as opposed to prawn cocktail? Does it take a lot to cook tofu or to add cashews to give that little bit extra protein to a veggie meal? Of course not. Truth is, most vegetarians and vegans pay more attention to the contents of their food because they have to, anecdotally speaking. It's been scientifically proven that those who have a vegetarian diet are generally healthier with less problems with blood pressure, cholesterol, heart problems, obesity and consequently diabetes, cancers, etc. Healthy snacking is generally encouraged by dieticians who encourage the eating of more regular smaller meals throughout the day rather than 3 bigger meals which serve to bloat, particularly when they are less fibrous than vegetable based diets. But, thanks for your anecdotal input nonetheless. The scientific facts, however, speak otherwise.

Funny reading back on my post from a few months back, as I've actually been vegan now since the 3rd January. What I thought would be tough has actually been quite easy for me. Thankfully Edinburgh has a good few places to pick up vegan foods (vegan haggis samosas mmmmmmm) including one which is on my walking route to work in the morning, so I can always fill my bags early morning and be ready for the day ahead. I've lost a stone since then too (it was there to lose!), and feel much better for it. I did have a bad kidney infection about a month back and had all the sceptics tell me smugly it was because I don't eat meat or an other animal related products. Of course, it was nothing to do with that, but the barbed comments kept coming from those who assume that anything other than 'chips with everything' is an inadequate diet! There was also a massive fall out about a team away day at work over me being a vegan - long story, but ended up with me staying in the office for the day after I'd organised it all because one of my colleagues made jibes at my eating choices. HR were involved, all very messy, and all because someone just couldn't tolerate my lifestyle choices. What I have enjoyed most of all is learning to cook different things. It's very easy to stick to the same food time and time again, but I've tried lots of new things of late, the majority of which I've enjoyed.

We get the 29th as a holiday - a few of us wanted to go into work but the decision was made to close the buildings so it's physically impossible to go into work even if you want to. I never thought I'd hear myself say that 'I would rather go into work' :

I'm quotin myself here, but I discovered today that the version of this is by Deirdre Wilson Tabac. I bought a CD of covers from EBay for £2 (delivered!) which had this on it as well as the Al Green cover. For anyone that's interested it's on the Harmless label and is called 'We Can Work It Out'.

I became a veggie when I was about 14 or 15 and just decided that eating another being's flesh wasn't right. To be honest, I never really liked red meat, but did eat chicken (eugh, to think about it now!) and fish, but after cutting out red meat, the removal of white meats seemed a natural step, and somewhat easier. Shortly after that came numerous meat related health scares in the UK, so what initially seemed a wacky lifestyle choice was suddenly something people asked me about. During a summer job from Uni, I worked at a country park and looked after some farm animals including pigs and goats, and again, it just felt as if my choice not to eat had been reaffirmed. I have often thought about going a step further and becoming vegan, but I think that would be a step too far for me, although just recently I have been trying to introduce more natural teas than lattes and swapping soya for dairy. Of course, it's amazing the amount of people who don't actually understand what a vegetarian is. I had a 'vegetarian' Xmas meal at work, and there was salmon on the plate. Similarly there's been a few occasions where they've put ham in various sauces and I've luckily spotted it before I've eaten it! Ew. I think I would throw up had I eaten it. On the health front, I've been very lucky as far as health goes with low cholesterol and low blood pressure, which have probably been aided by having a vegetarian diet for most of my life, although my blood pressure is very low and around the same as a toddler's which matches my mentality

Meadowbank would sure suit me as it's a neat wee walk for me. Yeah, bring on Meadowbank!

Edinburgh Castle was the venue that I had thought of - took my Mum to see Rod Stewart there this year and it poured down, the screens failed, yet the evening later, all worked wonderfully by all accounts! Our show was a bit of a disaster, but I'm afraid that's the weather for you. When it works, it's a brilliant venue holding around 8K-9K seated. I think Hopetoun House is the other venue who have been trying to arrange concerts, and they have a promoter working to attracting guests there.

Yes, they do an advance sale immediately after the last festival closes. I know people who used to go routinely year after year as it is a weekend away for them that they just put in their diaries every year rather than going to see any band in particular. A few friends have switched to going to Rockness instead of TITP as they prefer the atmosphere at the Loch Ness Festival. I'm sure we'll hear on here sooner than through the T in the Park website if Paul was going to be playing. Official announcement is meant to be in February, although having looked back over the previous line-ups, I can't actually see a single band I would have made the journey to see!

I'd be quite disappointed if he did T in the Park - it's got a reputation for being a bit, well, 'neddy' ops: There was a rumoured line up that was doing the rounds for next years festival, and it had Foo Fighters and Blink 182 on it amongst others, although I think that has since been shown to be a bit pie in the sky. Would be great to see him back in Scotland, but I'd much rather he did something other than T in the Park.

Afraid not - the SECC is in Glasgow near the riverside. Not brilliant acoustically, but realistically the most likely venue he would play I would have thought. The funny thing is with being attended to by paramedics, they were telling me to go home and take it easy for the rest of the day - I went home, had a shower, 30 mins sleep, then drove through to Glasgow for the Hampden concert! I made it clear, "No, I'm going to Glasgow to see Paul McCartney" and they were a bit stunned! The last mile of The Moonwalk took me over an hour to do, so I was in no fit state, but a massive mount of glucose later, some medication, and coffee, and I was fine (just about). When the music started, I felt nothing but deliriously happy

Hampden was a top gig - everything about that date was just brilliant, even though I spent the morning in a medical tent being treated by paramedics after The Moonwalk in Edinburgh that morning! The best medicine was a 2 and a half hour live show to dance the leg cramps away!

Ooooooh, if you're so inclined, I'd happily take the King Tuts ticket for posterity
