Nice song!! Not too familiar with Bruce's material, but he sang this beautifully....really suited him, I thought.
Clearly you've got some catching up to do! http://www.reverbnation.com/lpquagmire
Enjoyed listening to your tunes....you have a niiice voice and kind of an eclectic style that I can't quite put my finger on...I'm wondering who your music influences are?? I've always been facinated by the sort of thing...I hear a bit of GORDON LIGHTFOOT in the mix..I think mostly in that song AGAIN...if my memory serves.
Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts, Claudia. As for my influences, pretty much the usual suspects (Beatles, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Dylan and Springsteen).
Oh you're welcome, it was a pleasure listening in to your tunes! So...the usual suspects, you say....perhaps??, but I still find it rather interesting..you'd be surprised how eclectic and varied some musicians inspirations can be.
I happened to turn onto the Dr. Drew (Psychologist) show last evening, and was quite taken with his film director guest, (Tom Shadyac), who was speaking about his new Documentary film ( I AM) and the apparent epiphany he experienced whilst recoving from a cycling accident, and its' ramifications in his life. I could feel myself so relating to his words and his concept of true happiness or contentment being derived from our fundamental connectedness to one another ...the fact that yes, we are in fact our brother's keeper. The catalyist for him is when he became disallusioned when he bought his 3rd new mansion in Beverly Hills and realized he wasn't any happier after acquiring it. He then decided to change his life, selling most of his properties and giving away millions of dollars. I've always enjoyed his films (being a comedy buff and a Jim Carrey fan...BRUCE ALMIGHTY, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR, etc, etc., so I already knew we were on the same page so to speak. Anyway, I'm anxious to see this film...the message seems so simple, yet so profound and perhaps a eye-opener to many, and certainly ripe for the taking! Take a look...
Okay so whilst dipping into the sweet sounds of the LOVING SPOONFUL group yesterday, I happened upon GARY PUCKETT and this great tune I thought I'd post... what a tremendous singer he was...he inspired my ex. to become a singer and musician when he saw him live way back when....I was always in awe of his great voice aswell.. YOUNG GIRL -- Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
Since I just heard it on the oldies radio...(cute little bugger ) RAIN ON THE ROOF ----Lovin' Spoonful

I'm also happy Paul chose an AMERICAN once again....way to go, Paul!! I remember being soooo devastated when he wed Linda, however I took some satisfaction in the fact that he married an American girl, and she would be saturating him with our ways, and somehow I could, to some degree live vicarously through that fact....crazy huh???..lol...hey, if you can't beat em'...join em'!..

Have always been pretty exclusive with my music tastes.Obsessive lifelongMcCartney fan.Like also Difford&Tilbrook,Andy Partridge and a few others. But just strayed and bought Long Player/ Late Bloomer by Ron Sexsmith. What a great album. If you can't wait for Maccas next release, treat youself.Oh and the record features Rusty on guitars.
I really have enjoyed Ron Sexmith songs that I've heard ...I was turned on to his music by one of the British gents on this forum! I remember two specifically: "Not about To Lose This Feeling"...and, if memory serves me, "You Drive a Hard Bargain"...something like that??? Nice avatar, btw!!

"Architecture is "Frozen Music"....really, there is something to this; the tone of mind produced by architecture approaches the effect of music." ---Johann Wolgang von Goethe-- Speaking of which, my childhood playground was replete with beautiful architectural aspects...here it is in all it's splendour.. PROSPECT PARK....notice the fanciful names given the different meadows and vistas of the Park...so pretty! . http://video.nytimes.com/video/2006/05/11/travel/1194817094949/prospect-park.html
Here's another example of the great architecture that surrounded me as a child in Brooklyn...this was directly up the block from my home..just a hop, skip and a jump from PROSPECT PARK.. "Architecture is to make us know and remember who we are"..... http://www.nyc-architecture.com/PS/PS025.htm very beautiful there. Thanks for the journey Claudia.

I love Paul's knee socks. Just got to love that man's fashion sense at times.
GOOD socks!! I have affinity for ARGYLE!
that's funny. . but over the years, seeing many sexy Irish and Scottish men in Argyle, I've grown a fondness for it myself. I've got a genuine Argyle store near my house.
Lucky You on both counts...lol
