Pure McCartney has a fair proportion of Wings tracks on it, but not a single reference to Wings anywhere on the back or front cover. Another nail in the coffin of the idea they were a real band??
'Wings Greatest' 1978 'Wingspan' 2001
Not sure what your point is. But in 2001 a compilation that was NOT all Wings was branded as Wings, and now this compilation including plenty of Wings is branded just as McCartney, with no ref to them on the cover or anything.
The titles recognised that Wings were a real band.

RE: Petition to get Wings in R&R HOF
Wings, as a 'functioning unit' (line-up changes are irrelevant) were together for 10 years, and were massively popular, outselling The Beatles during their time together. Huge selling albums and singles, especially in America. On that basis, of course they deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame, but if they don't get in it doesn't make them any less relevant in popular music history, unless of course you wish to re-write history.

I read the entire Wings years section in the book shop (you think I was going to buy the thing?) and the only info I learned out of all that, was that 'Proud Mum' was used in a commercial for Mothers Pride bread. Can anyone confirm this to be true?
Correct...I think!
I tried to find it on youtube but it didn't come up.
Yeah, me too

I think that 'Hope Of Deliverance' is a classic also
That's his biggest best seller. Definitely a classic
I understand it is "Mull of Kintyre" UK And "Silly Love Songs" US Now those two are definitely classics.
Yes. But on worldwide sales combined , it's 'Hope Of Deliverance'

What show was it on? Maybe I have it on a compilation dvd.
I'm fairly sure it was on GMTV. I'm in the UK

Funny...I have just been discussing this with a few others. There was even a video for this song. Can anyone point me in the right direction for that? There was some dancing about and Paul was, of course, playing the bass. I've been looking and looking for it. I know I've seen it.
You're absolutely right. I remember seeing the video on breakfast tv when Heather was also interviewed.
