Heard The Loveliest Thing played on BBC radio one night, many years ago - the DJ, whose name I can't recall, called it a hidden gem which was wasted as an extra track on a Cd single. He was right. .

I'm sorry about the loss of a soldier, or any act of terror. But Freedom was written for 9/11. If Paul had to do a tribute to every soldier fallen he'd do nothing else in life. It's unfair and selfish to expect him to do a tribute. He doesn't owe it.
This exactly.Plus, I don`t think it would be particularly helpful.
I only have to look at forums and Facebook pages belonging to other artists to see how critical and negative Paul`s fans generally are. And that is fans from ALL countries. No one in in a position to be smug. Michelley, not so long ago, you were criticising his hair and saying everyone you spoke to criticised it. How ridiculous and petty. I might add that most artists actually don`t have official fan forums on their websites - certainly not free ones.
Michelley:
I would, if I was him. People in the UK made clear that they were tired of seeing him perform there and that he was overexposed in Britain. So why go where you're not wanted. especially when you are wanted everywhere else.
Slight generalisation there.

on FB and the Examiner, this has brought out the worst in people. they have actually said that since he's British, he doesn't have the right to an opinion about guns. well, he was effected by a gun in the US. I'd say that gives him the right to his opinion even if it's different then mine.
Since the two dead members of his ex-band died as a result of violent attacks, one murdered by gun directly, the other where knife stabbing was a contributing cause, he and Ringo certainly have a right to their opinion. Which I also share.
Exactly. What difference does it make that he is British? (Although I could add that his current and late wife are American, he has half-American children, one all-American, and he has businesses and homes in America).Surely this is about caring about humanity? Americans should be glad that he cares about them. I also find it amusing that Americans think the way to really insult the Brits is to criticise the monarchy!

I heard he made nice with Paul when he wrote the Lennon bio.
Did they eventually make nice? I know that Yoko was initially happy with the book and then didn't like the final result. I forgot what Paul said about it. but yeah, in Shout, Norman made a nasty "stupid cow eyes" comment about Paul.
He also basically opens up the book saying he was always a Lennon fan and the other 3 were sidemen, partly because of his bitterness that Paul's MPL people wouldn't let him meet him or something
Norman apparently has softened his view of Paul in recent years. What really made him realise he had been too harsh was discovering that Paul had paid for Neil Aspinall`s cancer treatment. There were plenty of other examples of Paul`s generosity, if only he had bothered to look. I guess Norman has grown up.

My second cousin met him when he was working in a recording studio in New York as a sound engineer. Paul was there because James was recording an album. They weren't allowed to ask for autographs or pictures because it would be unprofessional. My second cousin said he positioned himself so he would walk past him and he said Paul was so nice and was quite short. He said Paul made small talk and asked him if he played any instruments and what school he went too. He said James wasn't so nice because he ignored everybody. I said isn't he shy and he said no because of the tone of voice and James slammed the door. Also one of the late Ravi Shankar's students who I talked to who played at the Concert For George(he played sitar during the Arpan) met Paul and said he felt Paul was arrogant. He said Ringo was nice and George was the best of all three Beatles. George was very private too he said. HE said Paul wasn't arrogant to him but he had a feeling Paul was that way.
I thought Paul was 5'11"?????? Short?
I'm 5'8" and Paul and I were eye to eye. When you hit 70, you tend to shrink some.
shrinkage?
As I wrote it I knew someone would pick up on that. Well done for being the first.

There are two indicators that this is fake: 1)There is a track called April Fool`s day; and 2) It`s an "exclusive" on Macca Report!
I like the idea about an April fools day. Sounds like a winner.
Maybe. But, unfortunately,it doesn`t exist.

I suspect Paul has always been 5`8-5`9" in reality. I don`t think he has shrunk. He has very good posture (it`s poor posture that usually causes the shrinkage).

21st Century Paul:
Thatcher was anything but a leader. A leader is someone who inspires others, who brings out the best in other people, who does what needs to be done and not by imposing his/her will against others but just because he/she feels he/she must behave that way and then some people follow the leader, they feel inspired by what the leader has done so they decide to do the same. I don't know.... Paul McCartney, for instance is a leader, not Margaret Thatcher.
Paul is a musician. Margaret Thatcher was a politician so she had to do things some liked and some did not. I calculated the time I, as an American girl in junior high school watched her on television, holding a position of great power she was an inspiration to young girls that they could be a leader in all areas of the world, not just a housewife or some man's 'girl friday.' In my view at the time, being young and impressionable, that is what she represented to me and girls like me. Being a politician is not really a popular thing. Someone is always going to not like your policies. As a young girl I did not like all the decisions Reagan made either. Anyway, I respect her for doing what she thought was the right thing to do in impossible circumstances and not backing down. Just an American view from a woman who admired Thatcher as a girl as an inspiration to become a woman with options in life.
But as Glenda Jackson bravely pointed out recently, Mrs Thatcher did absolutely nothing to help other women.

K-Marts sells a fake fur hat like that. I've got one
It`s a very old picture so it`s almost undoubtedly real fur. No big deal.

Not gonna happen. He's only doing 3 dates in Europe, then South America and then lots of dates in the US and that's probably it. It's nothing different, really. You're not alone in being disappointed. They sold tickets last year for two dates in Denmark, postponed it and promised to rescheduled... and they broke that promise. So that goes to show how much they really care about what fans want. $$$$$
I was hoping on the rare occasion he might alter his busy schedule to perform somewhere else for a change! I know 2012 was a wonderful occasion being able to perform at the Olympic games and for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, on his usually unheard of return to England, but surely this year could have been/will be different! Shocking to hear about that concert, though.
Is that what you meant to say?
What I'm trying to get at (what I put before may have been exaggerated) is that it is understandable that when touring you want to visit all your fans across the world. But wouldn't it be nice to see him return to England to perform? The times he did appear were for special occasions and not the "odd" concert he was just expected to perform. The bottom line is, I wouldn't mind a variation in his touring. At least have a few in England once in a while, some more across Europe and Asia. Pretty please?
He usually does shows in Britain when he tours. However, it is usually in the latter part of the year, and that is what I am expecting this year.

NICE salt & pepper hair!
Is he wearing an engagement ring?
Huh? That`s his wedding ring. This picture is from around about 1980. Which should give you all an idea what colour his hair is now...

Sometimes Paul makes some odd single choices. Which songs do you think should have stayed as album tracks, b-sides or just in the can? Probably the obvious one for me is 'Give Ireland Back to the Irish' but how about you?
Is that song available anywhere...on any album? Paul sort of disowns it now, like it doesn't exist; doesn't want to insult the Queen or whatever. I remember rather liking it...the marching-of-soldiers sound and the guitars.
I really don`t think the Queen would be in the slightest bit bothered or interested. The real problem that has always existed with this song is that it could be interpreted as being in support of the IRA, a terrorist group. For those of you who don`t understand, that`s like putting out a song in support of the Taliban.
