REALLY never thought this would happen! I am definitely surprised Paul agreed to it, but I'm certainly NOT complaining. FINALLY PAUL IS PLAYING MY HOMETOWN!

He should have made us of that catwalk for his Hendrix guitar solo.

Well, my post-concert blues have set in. Last night in Indianapolis was absolutely AMAZING! Paul was in SUCH a good mood - which always makes for an extra fun show. Soundcheck was SO much fun! Akiboh and I danced the entire hour - seriously, I was winded. And she got a shout out from Paul after holding her, "This is my hometown!" sign. Actually, it was more than a shout out - it spawned an entire funny story from Paul, directed at her! Our seats were incredible for the show - 3rd row, dead center. Paul was REALLY interacting with the audience, which isn't anything new, but is still so much fun to be a part of. During Your Mother Should Know, I held a sign that read, "This (soon to be) Mother Will Know!" He read it after he finished the song and gave me a point and "congratulations" type applause. Then he said something like, "We've got a mother-to-be down front! Congratulations!" before going into Lady Madonna. It was awesome - something I'll have to tell this baby about when it's old enough to understand. Anyway...back at work now and obviously finding it difficult to concentrate. Let's hear some more stories about the show!
Way to go, momma to be, Sarah! Your son (yes, I think it's a boy) will get to hear some great stories some day Barb
We'll know soon enough! Find out tomorrow.

Signs: no one was called on stage tonight...he noted one sign that said 'I'm a Macc-aholic - and there is no cure' then a second sign that said 'the guy behind me can't see'...LOL

I'll be hitting up Indi in the morning coming from Chicago. I'll be by myself this show, but would be cool to meet some boardis before the show. Smallest venue of the tour at 14,000. This is going to be nuts!
Not that it's that far off, but the website says it seats more than 15,000 for a concert. I'm guessing it's similar to FedEx Forum - they both hold about 18K for sporting events and "more than 15,000" for concerts. FedEx was AWESOME for a concert, so I am sure Indy will be the same! I've actually seen several concerts at Banker's Life (including Paul in 2002!), but all I remember is that it's very steep. One thing is for sure - Sunday is going to be AMAZING. I just hope the crowd is lively... come on Indy!

RE: Outside Lands, San Francisco, CA, 9 - 11th August - ARCHIVE
For what it's worth...even though they're popular, none of those sub-headliners come close to the popularity of The Black Keys. Even several years ago... So it may be a bit less cut throat leading up to Paul.

I don't know, this time could be different. The main stage lineup that day was amazing...Macklemore to kick off, and later OK GO, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, and of course Muse! Maybe this year will be a bit calmer...or maybe that's wishful thinking. :
They have the daily lineups sorted now: http://lineup.sfoutsidelands.com/?sort=day I have little to no knowledge of these artists or how popular they are...anybody? Does it look like it's going to be a smushed day at the main stage?
Band of Horses, The National and Pretty Lights are all pretty popular. The National and Band of Horses are somewhat similar (as in...both indie rock bands). But Pretty Lights is a DJ/electronic act (just one guy, I think) who draws a big crowd. I would guess that the crowd who loves Pretty Lights will be less interested in Paul. I've seen all three live and they should all be pretty entertaining leading up to the main event...so that's the good news. I will say I'm surprised The National is billed above Band of Horses... I think the latter is more popular. But, what do I know?
