If Paul were to play Indianapolis, what is the likely venue. Could the locals weigh in?
It's a tough one. There is the arena, Conseco Fieldhouse (or...Bankers Life Fieldhouse now). I saw Paul there in 2002. But....I just don't see Paul playing an arena in the summer. The next option is Lucas Oil Stadium. It's pretty new and HUGE. It's where the Colts play. We did some research and turns out the only concert there has been Kenny Chesney. I'm sure Paul could play there - but seriously..it's really, really, really big. Besides that there is an ampitheatre north of Indy called Klipsch Music Center. But, it's pretty small and has the pavillion/lawn set up. I really don't see Paul playing there.
I think Lucas Oil is the only real option. Though I'd love an arena show. Lucas Oil - 67,000 Dallas Cowboy new stadium 80,000 (Paul played there in 2009) Citi Field - over 100,000 (Paul played there 3 night in 2010)
An arena show would be amazing! But, yeah...probably not happening. I don't think because Paul played somewhere 3 nights you can change the capacity from 45,000 to more than 100,000. Surely thousands of those people saw the show multiple times. But, regardless - good point about Cowboy Stadium. Dallas is a bigger market than Indy, but also a lot bigger than Lucas Oil. I just know from the outside it seems GIGANTIC. I've never been inside though... Hopefully I will be soon enough!
I was looking at it before when all the rumored cities were announced. Though it is big as it's a football stadium, keep in mind this is Paul McCartney. He's a lot bigger act than that no-talent Kenny whatever his name is. Paul played Soldier Field in Chicago in 1989. The Rio Stadium with 186,000. Also take into account Paul's zig zagging and how he has so few shows in the area. People from all surrounding states will make the trip to see Paul. Like I said, it's Paul McCartney.
I'm not trying to debate here. I agreed it's likely where he's playing from the get go. Let's move on.
