Being particularly bored tonight I went through the ticketSoup website to see if I could get a rough indication of tickets left for Macca in Glasgow. Helped along with a fairly detailed seating schema from the hampden website which gives you all of the rows for each section (but unfortunately not the amount of seats in the rows), it looks on the whole that the gig is not too far from capacity. I'm making some biggish assumptions, like that each section is filled where possible from the front and also that TicketSoup's database takes into consideration ALL tickets left, even accounting for other ticket vendors (which is probably wrong). Obviously therefore, it's by no means accurate, but is a good-ish indication of how the stadium is filling up......

Production changes will be something simple like changing the design of the tickets to what the new billboard ads look like, or even changing the printers where the tickets were being printed because they were taking too long. Hampden is where Paul will be playing, of that I have no doubt. Chris

I'm actually quite optimistic about how many tickets have been sold now. I've been told that sales have been healthy as expected. Last week new blocks of tickets that had been held back for the pitch and stands were released, and these have been mostly snapped up. This has been coupled with more advertising/tie-ins from local radio as well as new billboards ads. I saw 2 today driving to/from work - a different design to the usual 'Up and Coming' graphics we've saw for months. Now all we need is the weather to be fine...... Chris

Guys, First of all - CALM DOWN!!!! Don't blame ticketmaster or ticketsoup for the late issuing of tickets. They are only AGENTS. The promoter employed by MPL (Marshall Arts I think) will organise the printing of tickets and their delivery to the ticketing agencies. Truth is though, that in this day and age, it seems to be the norm to leave the issuing of tickets to the last minute for whatever reasons (possibly as a ploy against touts?) I'm sure ticketmaster/ticketsoup are just as anxious in getting the tickets theselves so they can turn them round and get them out to us guys to stop us giving THEM grief. I bet as well that the tickets destined for foreign shores will be sent out first as a priority. In any event, all tickets will probably be sent with some sort of tracking. If at the end of all of this, if with 5 days to go, you still don't have ticket, then by all means give your agency a call and they'll arrange something for you. You've paid a lot of money to get into the gig, so they're not going to turn you away as long as you've let them know what's going on. Nothing to get hung about....... Chris

Looks like just about all of the cheapest £60~ tickets are all but gone. TicketSoup have a few single seats left for these. None left at TicketMaster. Still £75~ and £90~ tickets left on TicketSoup and TicketMaster. TicketSoup still have a few pitch seats available too, (tho at the very back edges.) I'm a bit happier now that the concert looks as if it will have a decent crowd. Chris

[quote="milcon1998"][quote="gibtti"]Anyone heard how well this gig is selling? I heard a rumour that capacity is 45,000, but barely half the tickets have been sold so far. cry Chris Just curious, how can you tell half the tickets have been sold? I noticed there are no tickets available through PMC.com anymore. I was TOLD by someone who works in ticketing that only half the tickets have been sold. I was just seeing if anyone else had any more info. If you go to the official vendors tickets are still readily available at all prices (including TicketSoup who have loads of pitch seats left - even more worrying). Chris

Ha, ha, I had a Haggis supper for a 'treat' last Sunday! I'm drinking Irn Bru as I write this. Evidently Scotland is one of the few places where Coca Cola is not the out and out No 1 soft drink brand. Chris

I think the Glasgow show must be getting close to being a sell-out. There are a few tickets left from the link on Paul's offical site, and Ticketmaster do have some left, but it looks like availability is very limited now. I couldn't find anywhere that was selling tickets on the pitch other than the hugely expensive "Platinum" seats (£900 a ticket anyone?!?)
Had a quick look on TicketSoup, (which let you book upto 10 tickets a time) and they still have lots of Hampden pitch seats left (albeit at the edges): BB10 x 1 BB3 x 10+ BB11 x 10+ AA12 x 10+ AA13 x 10+ Chris

joebhoy79 Tour is starting in the US at the end of March, so we'll probably have a good idea then what the setlist is gonna be (if you don't want to be surprised). If you want to know now, look out the setlist for the O2 gig last Christmas. It'll probably not be too far from that. Think it's a safe bet he'll be doing his usual core of songs (Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Let It Be etc) as well as Mull Of Kintyre. Chris

I was thinking the same. There are a few folk I know who are casual Macca fans who said to me they'd go to a Glasgow gig if it ever happened. Now it's happening most have backtracked because of a. No standing, b. Ticket Prices. However, I'm thinking he might still get a good turnout (albeit not a sell out), simply becuase he hasn't played north of the border for so long. I bet though there will be a lot of very cheap tickets to be had at Hampden just before the gig starts. Chris

Now the general sale is on, I see ticketmaster have the 'Platinum' tickets for Hampden available. If you want front row seats in the front central section AA7 it'll set you back a cool £900.03 per ticket!! Chris

Whenever there's something big on at Hampden (and the weather is not too bad) you'll always get a few folk doing the walk from the centre of Glasgow. When the UEFA cup final was there a couple of years ago it was like a mass exodus!

Remember, only certain blocks were in the presale, so your friend may or may not get a seat just as good as yours in the general sale when other blocks are released. It's a situation we all find ourselves in do I take these tickets, or do I pass in case better ones appear later. IMHO if you've got seats on the pitch, you've done well and you'll have a great view. Enjoy the show!!

I got the seated block right in front of the stage. Result!!! Hey, LazyDynamite, I'm a row behind you!! Things looked a bit shaky for a while there, but the PM.com team have pulled it out the bag!! See you at Hampden!!

If this presale turns out (like ticketmaster suggests) to be Amex only, I'm going to be well pissed off.

RE: Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE
Prices on Ticketmaster have dropped from £77.50 to £60.75 again. That's a bit better!! Chris

RE: Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE

RE: Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE
The last Glasgow show 20 years ago was originally going to be an outdoor gig called 'Get Back To Glasgow' on the purpose built 'Queen's Dock'. (to mirror the 'Let It Be Liverpool' gig on similarly purpose built outdoor stage/seating at Kings Dock which was to happen 5 days later). Trouble was the Glasgow gig ended up being moved to the adjacent SECC amid reports of poor ticket sales. I was at the gig as a young 19 year old and remember passing the outdoor construction on the way into the decanted show. Paul even made (sarcastic) comment about it during the gig. Don't think he was best pleased TBH. When Glasgow was missed out on subsequent tours it looked like he was deliberately giving it a miss (esp after it being known as an essential gig stop for him in his Beatles/Wings days). I always though if he came back to Scotland, he'd play it safe and do something smaller and more intimate. So now he's trying a Scottish outdoor gig again, and even bigger than the one that ultimately failed last time. I'd love for Hampden to be a sell out but I can't help thinking he'll struggle big time to fill it. He just doesn't seem as appreciated in the UK these days as the rest of the world. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised... Chris
